Had the best birthday dinner I've had in years here. The food was spectacular and came with the service to match! It was so neat how the had the option to self prepare the stuff on the stones at your table, never seen that any place before. Atmosphere was very comfortable, no over crowded tables squished close together. Definitely recommended this place for any occasion

The place was clean and friendly at first. Once our food was brought our server Luke, never once came to check on us or refill our drinks. Even though he walked by at least 3 times.
The food food I got the lamb and my wife got steak. They brought my wife a full steak which she had to cut up raw with the crappy steak knife that all restaurants use and her fork resulting in a partially shredded steak. And then use the same utensils to eat. I had the same issue.
The lamb was 3 two bone pieces which I was expected to either cook whole or use my fork and knife to shred/ cut. I ended up cooking them whole them cutting into pieces and cooking some more. Could not eat the meat near the bone I could not cook the bone because I could not lay out on the stone and it was still raw in parts.
Together we spent $70 before tip, which also included 2 soft drinks and a $3.50 up charge for a Cesar salad. Very discount.
It's a good idea with poor execution. Would have worked better if they gave you the option to have the meat sliced into strips. Would not recommend.

Every time my family and I go here, we are treated very well and our food is delicious and if there's any problem, they take care of it right away. Not usually too long of a wait. If even await and prices are pretty normal with other steak restaurants.

Met another couple at Black Rock for dinner, took advantage of their call ahead seating. Other customers waiting when we arrived, but our booth was reserved and ready. Excellent waitress served us quickly and very accommodating. Got drinks and appetizers, off to a good start. Somehow our dinner order got delayed or lost in the kitchen. Waitress apologized, said she’d prioritize our order and sent the manager to our table. Manager also apologized, said she’d give us a credit on our meals. Dinners came out quickly, cooked perfectly, and a credit on the bill as promised. Sometimes things don’t go well, we all know that. It was refreshing and inspiring to see how the staff at Black Rock dealt with the situation. They all truly cared, and our experience was amazingly good. Thank you Black Rock. We’ll be back.

We had friends in from Louisiana and we gave them a number of options for dinner. When they heard of the concept of cooking your own steak on lava rock they jumped at the chance. We had a great dinner and they loved it, too.

I had a take out order and they told me 15-20 mins I gave them 20 went in and was helped right away but they lady took about 20-30 mins to bring my food out and when I got home the dip for my pretzels had about a table spoon each and the cheese sauce was all over the side of the container

This is one of our must go places when we visit family in Michigan. Every time we've been, the service and food are exceptional. Love that we can cook our steak or seafood to perfection on the stone while we eat. It also has a great variety of choices for people with dietary restrictions.
