I live an hour and a half away from Bangkok 96. I drove down river today to come to my favorite restaurant with my mom on my birthday. I can't believe how disappointed I was today. The girl that took our orders at the register was too busy texting to give an extra 5 minutes to my mother that's 80 years old. Stopped in to grab dinner. The service was friendly and had my order ready. Got home, and the Tiger Tear was grilled some that all you tasted was smoke. Luckily the Bangkok 96 fried rice and spring were the meal savers.
I really wanted to like the meal that I had at Bangkok 96. Having traveled to Thailand and Laos many times, I found their menu had items I had previously eaten overseas. My favorite dish, ban kaprao mu, is extremely hard to find here in Michigan. When I saw that Bangkok 96 offered a dish with a similar name and Thai basil, I couldn't resist.
