A disappointing experience. Ambiance - Empty restaurant on a Wednesday at dinner time. Uncluttered, but not necessarily super clean or inviting. They were playing these sad and drawn out country music ballands that felt a little bizarre, but no big deal. You can dine in, but it's not table service, other than them bringing your food out initially. Food - Metro Detroit has pretty standard Thai food restaurants across the board so price/flavor/quality/etc is similar at the best of the best all throughout Wayne County. I would consider Bangkok 96, SHINthai, Thai Vylai to be comparables. Unfortunately, La Thai Cuisine was nowhere near them for various reasons. For one, there was less protein (chicken) in the dinner, about half the amount other restaurants would give. The Tom Yum soup was nothing like a Tom Yum I've had anywhere else in and out of state. The color was much darker than I've ever seen and it tasted like they dumped a lot of chili powder in it. Did not finish. The tiny shrimp in it was off too. The worse part though was that the eggplant in the Gang Ped dinner had gone bad. The flesh was dark brown and had a strange texture and bad taste. It had to be noticeable and shouldn't have gone out to a customer. Service - It was clear that the woman working the counter was either new or maybe a relative just filling in for the night. Some basic questions had her disappearing to the back for answers. "Are the chicken wings breaded?", "Do you have wifi?" both got "let me check". (They do not have wifi, btw.) Anyways...I had tried to eat some of that eggplant thinking maybe the color was an exotic eggplant I hadn't tried before.. lol...it wasn't. Before leaving, I took my picked-over plates to the counter to clear my table and let the woman at the counter know that the eggplant had gone bad. She says, "I'll let them know." and disappears to the back. When she came back, she said nothing to me...no apology or offer to make things right, not even "have a nice night!" It was just weird. I was there for just under a hour and maybe two other people came in during that time to pick up orders.

They have the phone number listed on the door but when you call, no one answers. I asked the person behind the counter who had very limited English skills and she said she didn't know the number. I showed her that I ordered online and she was very confused. I waited for the food and it was not great at all. Not used to subpar Thai food.

First time getting lunch for me and coworkers. Crab Rangoon was perfect type, pouch not triangle. However it was chewy and had no filling. Spring roll was greasy.

We picked this spot needing to get a quick bite when in the area. La Thai is a pretty casual place; you place your order at the counter, and then they call you when the food is ready (although it was slow when we were there, so staff brought the food to us). The portions were big for a reasonable price, and both of our dishes were tasty. The staff was very friendly and willing to chat with us a bit. Definitely not a bad place to go to.

My regular Thai place closed so I found this one. One of the new places that offers Peanut Curry and has indoor seating as you wait.Ordered Peanut Curry with chicken (heat level 3) Drunken Noodles with shrimp (heat level 2), rolls and chicken. Everything came under $40. Impressive.Heat level 3 wasn't hot enough for my partner, next time

Well, after four excellent visits we took our 10 year old granddaughter in for a meal. She wasn't a fan of the Pad Thai so we tried to order her some plain noodles. Much to our surprise they said we could only get plain noodles as a side to another dinner. So it cost us another $20 to get her some noodles. The moral is they are not kid friendly.

Good friendly service. But subpar food. Curry didn't feel like curry, the cashew curry was just doused in soy sauce. Felt like more of a "fast food" Thai spot if anything.Wings were delicious but not worth 9$ for 5 wings.

I was surprised to see how varied the reviews for this restaurant are, I visited with my family just passing by and couldn't help but appreciate the atmosphere inside, the service at the front counter was hospitable and the woman up front helped me navigate ordering from their large menu. The food was finished quite promptly and each dish while having a completely different flavour profile tasted amazing, we ordered the chicken pho, pad Thai, pad peanut curry and pad cashew, the portion sizes were quite large for their decent pricing, definitely the best Thai food in the area, would come again.Vegetarian options: Fried tofu as well as almost the entire menu can be made vegetarian upon asking.Kid-friendliness: The staff were sweet and patient with the little ones.Parking: Many spots with clear lines.

Ordered carry out food is authentic and delicious! They just need to serve bigger portions for the price they charge other than that fav spot for Thai by far !!!!

The food is REALLY GOOD. I love spicy food and their food is SPICY. I ordered the drunken noodles (Spice level: Medium Plus), their Spring Rolls are very good as well. The only problem was customer service, the lady upfront was very rude, I would ask her questions about the dishes (one word responses), it’s like she was in a rush to get me out there. (It was an Indian girl). The customer service needs a little work.

I can honestly say that I have never felt closer to sending everything back and asking for a refund. This may have been an off day, or the chef wasn't regularly on.I have no idea.Worst Tom Kha, I've ever had. I asked to have it with chicken, and I got no veggies, just chicken and broth. I asked where the vegetables we're and she said you asked for the chicken one, which was .75$ more in the first place. I said it's really weird to eat the soup with just pieces of chicken. Could I get some vegetables in my soup? So she charged me another dollar, took my soup, and when she came back, it was basically raw vegetables in the soup and took out 80% of the chicken that was in the original portion. I am so confused by this whole experience and don't even want to try and remedy the dining experience. If you don't really care too much about the authenticity, then the food came out hot and was exactly what I ordered. So keep this in mind when you are ordering and do not make any assumptions about what you will get. Also, everything tastes like it came out of a can or a premixed container.I definitely wouldn't recommend.I won't ever come back.
