Been to Shatila Bakery four times now they have a good variety of Arabic/ middle eastern sweets, ice cream and some hot breakfast items too. We came early this time about 7-7:30am best time no crowd! and the best part no parking lot shenanigans either!
I had their kunafa it was okay kinda luck warm it's supposed to be hot...even the pastries were kinda stale the only thing that was done right was the zaatar pie that was good. There bathrooms are super disgusting!! so weird doesn't make sense because the restaurant is spotless. Service is super shady most times!...you gotta be on point or you'll get past over and cut in front of!

My husband went in to grab me Kanafa and it was the nastiness thing ever and was so DAMN COLD AND HARD NOT FRESH AT ALL!! This is why I stopped coming to Shatila for years. If ya want fresh and warm Kanafa and pastries go to MASRI SWEETS they are #1.

The bakery has a large variety of options, both French and Middle Eastern inspired. The staff was very helpful with suggestions and pointing us to tasty options. The baked goods we got were incredible and very affordable for the quality. Highly recommended for those looking for great treats.

Disrespectful and rude server who refused to take our order. She took off her gloves and said, “ I don’t want to serve these people”.

Worst customer service ever. All the staffs just keep chit chatting behind the counters and they don’t respond to customers at all. Treat your customers well just having a big shop doesn’t matter.

OVERHYPED AND COMPELTE TRASH!!!!
The service is the worst - the people have no manners on how to treat customers, how to address or even communicate to a person. They just simply stand behind those counters and do absolutely good-for-nothing. I had a lot of respect for this shop few years back but now it's complete trash.

Restaurantji Recommends
Freshest, crunchiest, tastiest and perfectly balanced sweetness of dessert you can ever find outside Lebanon.
My favorites are:
The Baklawa with pistachios and with nuts, fried Katayef with walnuts and with qachtah, Barazeh, ice cream, freshly made unsweetened juices especially the pomegranate juice, Turkish coffee prepared for each order and last but not least the shredded halawat jiben.
My least favorite is:
The kinefeh which I prefer and highly recommend to eat it at Lebon sweet. Because Shatila doe not keep it hot and reheat it in microwave. I will not eat a reheated Kinefeh in a microwave. Then The flavor and quality decrease drastically.

I have never tasted such delicious and scrumptious food before. Authentic middle eastern cuisine.

The pastries are beautiful and tasty. Not as good as they used to be. And not the selection they used to have. Wish they would bring back my favorite coconut cake. Like every where, prices have gone up considerably.

I'm so disappointed that's it's actually funny. Please save your time and hard earned money and go to a bakery that actually cares about it's customers.
It's crazy, it's as if I was bothering or interrupting them.
Also very unsanitary multiple workers were eating the sweets and then rudely helping customers without washing hands or changing gloves.
Ohh and I'll be surprised if you don't receive your sweets smashed cuz they be slamming it onto the tray.
Wish I could give 0 stars
