Very happy with our experience, the food was absolutely delicious!! Everyone from entering the door was polite, we will definitely be back the next rime we visit Detroit
Had a nice dinner at Amore da Roma. The ambiance was pleasant and comfortable. The food was very good and well prepared. Our server was friendly, attentive, and helpful without being intrusive. Service was paced well and everything came out as expected. Overall, a solid experience and a good place for dinner. Would return.
My family and co-workers frequented the original Roma's Cafe. In my opinion, Amore da Roma, not only meets, but exceeds the my prior experiences at the restaurant. Excellent food and service. Thank you for making my Godmother's 75th Birthday dinner a truly wonderful experience.
Everything was amazing. Sara was a great server. She was excellent in making recommendations. She has a great sense of humor too. Kudos to her for her great job. We left something at the restaurant and we got a call about it right away. Thank you to the staff. Love the food. Great hospitality.
One of the best places in Detroit. Incredible staff and the food is always great. Highly recommend!
We've been to Roma Cafe many times and enjoyed it, but the change to Amore da Roma does not hold the same charm. The 'extras' that used to be provided complimentary with your meal are gone and prices are way up. We felt very rushed by the server and staff - when you are paying $50+ per head for a nice dining experience, that is not acceptable. Also the food was either too spicy (soup) or too salty (sauce) and had terrible presentation. The server was friendly but too aggressive on the front end - obviously if we all still have our menus opened and have just ordered an appetizer, we are not ready to order our meals. We will look for other options next time.
Food & service were exceptional. We had been here many years ago and loved going back. Definitely will return again soon.
Absolutely wonderful experience! Great service, delicious food, best tiramisu I've ever had. I will definitely be back!
Love, love, love this place. Been going here for amazing food since I was a kid in the 70's. Still my favorite restaurant of all time.
As always, the food is excellent, large menu, service excellent. My only complaint is that it was way too loud, with two large tables of 5-6 people talking and laughing way too vociferously. That made it difficult for us to even talk. Not the fault of the restaurant, I guess. But easy and free parking, close enough to anything downtown, still one of my favorites.

First thing of note, there is parking behind the building.
When we walked in we were greeted by “grandma” and she was very sweet. There was also a guy welcoming people at the door and this dude is the king of not rolling his eyes. I am at a table where I can see and sort of hear a lot of the people checking in. Oh you’re a family of 12 on Saturday night with no reservation?
Let’s go!
For real, he made it work somehow.
“Oh hi we have a reservation”
“Fantastic! Name?”
“Oh we’re an hour early”
And this guy just rolls with it like a prize fighter.
“You’re table is ready”
“Oh cool, just let us finish our drinks real slow and casually”
All of the staff is very nice and the food is very good but the show of watching people who apparently have never been to a restaurant check in was just amazing.

I loved our servers at Roma, but I’m disappointed with management. I brought a $50 Roma gift card we received as a gift and was told it couldn’t be accepted due to a redesign/age despite it being the reason we chose to come. The manager was irritated when we asked for a small item to be removed from our bill. If you’re thinking of buying a gift card here, I’d double-check the policy first, although it had been less than two years and Michigan laws online says otherwise.
…Thank you for responding! I appreciate that you offered an appetizer, but under Michigan’s Gift Card and Gift Certificate Act, businesses are required to honor valid gift cards regardless of POS system changes. The card was issued by your restaurant and still had a balance, so I just wanted to clarify that for other customers. I hope future guests don’t run into the same issue.
