My partner and I went for our anniversary dinner. It was crummy weather out so the restaurant wasn't very busy. We had chicken Parmesan, seafood Alfredo, and the tiramisu. All of the food was delicious, including the complimentary minestrone soup. I'm usually not a tiramisu person but we got it on the recommendation of our waiter and it was absolutely to die for! Highly highly recommend. Our server was attentive and helpful with questions and suggestions!

We sat at the bar and severed by Matt. Totally old school bartender. Engaging, informative and knowledgeable of the menu. The service is top shelf and the food is delicious. I had clams in white sauce and my wife had "Heaven on a Plate." Matt knows what this jeans. We never pass this place up when in Detroit. I would encourage those looking for great Italian food to visit.

Bon Appetit! The minestrone soup was absolutely delicious; just like I remembered it years ago. The Roma Tossed Salad? Need I say more. Perfectly dressed greens with the chopped hard boiled egg. And the grand finale....the tiramisu cake. When our waiter said it was the best, I was so glad I listened. So good and light. The presentation was lovely! Can't wait to go back!

Fantastic dinner experience. Equivalent to the former Roma Cafe experience that we have enjoyed for decades. We are excited to return in the near future to enjoy the authentic Italian cuisine from the expert and efficient staff.

Went to Amore de Roma for dinner following hockey game. Two couples looking to enjoy a good dinner with good friends. The hostess sat us at a lovely table in the bar. Very sweet female bar tender took our drink order. Then the male bartender took over.... after looking at the menu, I asked the bartender/waiter if it would be possible to have the chef make me a chefs choice for dinner. Anything he would like I was willing to try. The bartender basically laughed in my face, and informed me that he would not even consider bothering his chef with such a request. The rest of our party ordered and enjoyed their entrees. I decided to pass on dinner, and told him I would just have the chowder that comes with the entree that my husband ordered. Irritated, he walked away without so much as looking in my direction. He brought the soup to everyone in our party, and set the soup in front of my husband, again without looking in my direction. The soup I ordered never came. And, the soup he did bring to my husband was not the chowder I had asked for. Bottom line... my friends said that their meals were decent. I on the other hand was so insulted by this server, that I had to write this negative review. I believe the servers name was TJ or something similar. He really ruined what should have been a lovely addition to a great day. He should be ashamed of himself, but I'm sure, with his arrogant personality he will not think about it twice. BTW my experience was reflected in our tip, or lack of. And, I airways tip well in excess of 25%

Food was very good. Bartender TJ, was obnoxious! So much so, that I did not order any dinner, nor did I leave him a tip. He was rude and insulting. Really a shame for such a nice, historic place

Amore da Roma was absolutely excellent. I tried the garlic cheese bread (phenomenal), the 14oz ribeye (cooked and seasoned perfectly) which comes with a choice of pasta or soup. I did the fettucine alfredo (also amazing). There was also a side salad beforehand that was also excellent. I asked for an exception on the dessert (was looking for affogato), and they were happy to oblige. I felt welcome, taken care of, and I left happy and full. Can't recommend this place enough!

This was our 2nd visit to Amore da Roma. We had to get in early due to our plans, but the service was amazing - our server was Steven. The entire staff was great and attentive. As previously experienced, the food was excellent!!! We are so glad that we found this place. It will continue to be one of our top go-to restaurants in Detroit.
