My sister and I made reservations for Friday evening. We had an amazing time! Brittany was our server and she was absolutely the best! She had plenty of recommendations for us and helped us choose our drinks with ease. We ordered the shrimp cocktail, salmon deviled eggs, and chicken wraps. We both agreed the deviled eggs were the best thing. We had a perfect spot in the corner on the terrace where we could look down and see the Circle. The only issue with that was the view.. multiple people came over To stand to look or take pictures which was sort of awkward. There was a dj and the atmosphere both outside and in was spectacular . You will spend a pretty penny but I would definitely recommend checking them out.

This place is a must while in the city. I always great the spinach pie and custard pie. Best custard I've had.

This has been one of my favorite places to visit in Greentown for many years. The pastries are delicious.
The casino reps are excellent for the most part, but the restaurants are over priced for the garbage they serve. Barstool served us a Barstool nachos that we asked for chicken (that tasted and looked like bologna) and extra cheese which wasn't even melted. Guacamole was the worst - tasted like it came from the sewer. The wings were the only thing excellent. The Rock - JOKE - they give you a buy one get one on your Hollywood casino card. They serve sandwiches and shawarmas, and such. That is if they serve you. We sat down while the barmaid and another worker drank their soda and never once looked at us. After 10 minutes, I walked up to the bar handed them the buy one entree and get one free coupons, and told them no thank you; and left. Oh and the restaurant was almost completely empty. Makes you wonder. Casino itself was nice although I didn't hear one whistle for someone winning a jackpot. Me and my guest, we didn't care about us. We spend 2.5 hours and spent $20 each. Not bad, kept us busy.
Hollywood casino/hotel offers the best downtown Detroit experience. The hotel is in a safe and convenient location near outdoor events, restaurants and a few shopping outlets. Hollywood casino/hotel rooms are modern, sanitized and comfortable and the staff is very professional.
The good: really nice rooms, great water pressure, felt safe and clean The bad: you desperately need more people for the front desk and baggage check. Arrival last nite you only had one person on and it took far too long. Tonight when i came back for my suitcase -- no bellman anywhere ... even when paged ...a line at least 50 customers long waiting to check in and only 2 people working. I needed to raise a significant stink to get my suitcase (and i could have missed my plane) The lack of personnel is atrocious. It is imppssible to recommend the hotel given the front desk staffing issues
I called in to report their engineers smoking Marijuana on their lunch breaks and other craziness but idk if they do drug screenings or not but geesh. They deal with heavy machinery and they're Engineers smoking Marijuana. Scary!
We checked in on Saturday night. The ladies at the desk were very busy at about 4:30 but smiled & helped everyone to get checked in quickly. The room was on the 28th floor facing the city. It was clean. I was a housekeeping manager at Marriott when I lived in Florida so believe me I looked & it was top notch. Everything worked in the room. It was a quick walk to the casino & the liquor store. Uber was easy to use & fast - as the lady at the desk recommended for us to use to get to dinner. It was a present stay & I hope to come back.

We stayed here for a weekend in November, in a deluxe room, king bed with a view of the city. The room was clean, modern, walk in shower, floor to ceiling window overlooking the city. There was a coffee maker, refrigerator, closet, safe, chair to sit in, desk. You needed your room key to access the floors above the lobby & bridge walking over the road. Hotel is attached to the casino so easy access to that! We will return!!!
I’ll start by covering the highlights: the hotel was nicely updated and rooms had an upscale feel with their design. We had a a corner king room; the bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. Spacious bathroom & shower. Room was clean and all staff we encountered were pleasant. Areas for improvement: there is no restaurant on site at the hotel proper or room service, so no breakfast was available nearby. This was disappointing as we checked out and found a restaurant on our way home (only stayed one night). The coffee maker in the room only had decaf coffee and a tea for choices; no regular coffee to be found. Elevators were dirty and the parking garage was disgustingly dirty. The trash cans in the parking lot were so gross and there was trash strewn about. Yes, this connects to the casino of course but the hotel is separate. Food choices at the casino weren’t exciting so we went offsite for dinner. Casino smelled of smoke (both cigarette and marijuana) and was such a confusing maze. This hotel would be perfect for a bachelor party or a guys’ weekend away, but not a place for a romantic weekend at all. I don’t think I’d go back unless they upgraded for a restaurant and breakfast onsite, a coffee shop onsite and maybe some nice spa amenities. I’m sure Detroit has some better options for a romantic weekend away than this location.
Enjoyed my visit! Customer service was amazing at the service desk and loved that I had $15 slot play. I most definitely have plans to make a trip back to Hollywood Casino with family and friends.? Thank you
I Just returned from the casino tonight. I don't normally write reviews for anybody but what happen tonight absolute discussed me. While sitting at a table game a 3 person joined the group. The other two women at the table for a much longer time before My wife and I joined them. we were having great time. Until a new member joined the group. He like the wife and I was a smoker. The other 2 women at the table were not. They asked him not to blow the smoke in their face. At this point he became very rude, He called them Bit**s And Nig**. The casino chooses thought it was a better idea to throw out these 2 Women instead of a GOLD card member. I don't agree.
We are a couple from South FL who traveled to this hotel due to the proximity to Ford field. When walking into the hotel, people were loitering right in front of hotel eating their dinner, playing loud music and it just seemed like a big party. While checking in, I overheard the front desk staff complaining they were not given breaks, or lunch. Overall, the front desk staff was friendly but you could tell they are extremely short staffed. We were not informed there would be no turn down service or cleaning in between overnight stays. The room had a coffee maker but no coffee was in room. They have a $27 amenity fee that I am not sure what that was for. Our first morning, we had no hot water in shower. We attempted to call the front desk, and it just rang for 5 minutes with no one answering. I went down to the lobby to let the front desk know and the line was extremely long. We found a housekeeping staff member in our hallway to inform and she put the request into maintenance. The hotel really needs an app or email if they are going to be understaffed, that way they handle service related issues. I told the front desk upon check out and they just gave me a card to call a manager. I am not sure who trains this company in customer service but the manager should have been available to speak with. I will not be back.
