It was everything I read about before coming here. We where greeted upon entering, the menu was long enough, the food was excellent and the coffee... omg! Amazing! And offcourse, the message in every cup! We will sure come back everytime we are in Detroit!

I bought a cup of chili today and I am really disappointed with it. For starters they gave me not even half the amount and I paid $6 for a cup. Secondly it took a tremendous amount of time to get a cup of soup and coffee and it wasn't that busy. Just disappointed because I loved this place when it had its original management they did so well. Now it's highschoolers doing everything and the quality is horrible.

AWAKE is a pretty solid option for anyone who needs their morning brew or a morning/afternoon snack. They take their craft seriously and it shows in the pride they have for their work. This isn’t necessarily a place I’d recommend for someone in a rush (they will take their time if they need to) but the quality is well enough for those who don’t want to do chain-restaurant coffee.

Stopped for a coffee and cinnamon roll. Coffee good. The cinnamon roll was good. They were nice enough to warm it up, and skip the icing (which can make it too sweet for me).It is a nice vibe with tall ceilings, and soft indie music playing in the background. There are Sayings are posted throughout. There is lots of seating with a counter, couches, tables and a fireplace area. Good space for working or meeting someone.It was not busy on this Saturday later in the morning.
