This place has a capacity of 28 patrons, so it truly is quaint. Atmosphere was dark and perfect for a speakeasy.

These drinks are beyond normal drinks. Every cocktail was elevated to the next three levels. If you have a chance go check this small speakeasy. I loved the atmosphere as well. So chill inside and the bottles that have are off the chain.

This place was amazing. Absolutely loved the drinks, and Hannah, our bartender went above and beyond to give us a curated experience for my birthday. 10 out of 10!

Our party of 4 called to put our name on the waitlist. They told us an hour. We called back after waiting 90 minutes around 11pm and they told us they had no seats available.

The ultimate Speakeasy in downtown Detroit, the Bad Luck Bar is hidden in a nondescript alley not far from Campus Martius and half a block from Woodwood and State St.

I bought it out for a couple hours for a group event and the place is quite magical. The GM, Eric, has been there more than seven years and personally delivers the more sophisticated drinks and explains them in detail. We splurged on the $147 Japanese/Scotland fine whiskey selection with chocolates.

Prices for cocktails are over the top, most near $30 and single pours of average whiskeys are about the same. However, the house crafted cocktails are special and you are coming here as a special treat. Add the fact they do not serve food and seating is limited, they have to charge higher prices.

Overall, costly experience that is well worth it. Just hope when you knock on the door, they will let you in! Enjoy!!

We had a night out and decided to stop in to the Bad Luck Bar (how can you go wrong with a name like that?). We made the rookie mistake of trying to follow Google maps, walked right past the alley and went on the other side of the block. Yes the entrance is from that alley.

When we arrived had to put our name on the list. We waited about 45 minutes before the call. My recommendation is to get there early. Once we were in, this is a great speakeasy, and a very intimate atmosphere. They have a very unique drink menu. I would suggest asking the waiter for advice, if you have any questions.

It was definitely an experience. We will go back.

A diamond in the rough. Great drinks, small intimate atmosphere, and a true speakeasy entrance. A true one of a kind in the whole of Metro Detroit!
