They advertised a certain time to open and were closed. Which meant we drove 30 minutes out of our way for nothing.

Love Baker’s!! Legendary jazz club. I’ve had so many great times and memories here.

Great food, excellent entertainment venue, but unfortunately I was given the wrong bill and overcharged over $200. The establishment has agreed to reimburse me, but I inconveniently have to return to their business in order for them to do so. This issue definitely put a damper on an otherwise great event, treating a friend out to celebrate their birthday. Word to the wise, even if you hand the waitress your bill, double check the numbers before signing off.

This establishment is a great place to be if you want to hear good live music, the food was great as well, however I have a problem with the fact you have to pay $10 for parking, then turn around and pay $15 to get in the place and if you want to eat & drink your paying for this as well. My question is why should your patrons pay a cover charge to pay for your live band. I ask the waiter why is there a cover charge to come into an establishment to eat & drink and her response was, ITS FOR THE BAND THAT WE HAVE PLAYING. I’ll probably NEVER COME BACK AGAIN.

The music was great but the food was horrible. Eat before or after.

It was my first time here in about 5 years. As always, the live performances are outstanding. They always have top-notch entertainment, but that's it. The food was not seasoned at all. I was with a party of 20 people scattered throughout the seating area. We got there at different times, so we were scattered at different tables. Everyone had the same comments about the food. There was no seasoning on anything. Also, the drinks were way overpriced in comparison to other restaurants further down in the fashion district. That among sneaking a cover charge on the bills of people who ordered food and not on people he only purchased drinks is wild. Waitress miraculously went MIA when people had questions for the bill.

This review is only for the food I have been going to bakers for years from way back and the day and the food was always great but now they have fell completely off! The food is terrible absolutely no flavor at all I don't know if they changed cooks recipes or what but I definitely will not be getting food again from there and I don't like giving bad reviews for me to give a bad review it's pretty bad! I had fried chicken, Mac and cheese, greens and yams and none of it had any taste to it no flavor! Hopefully they do better

Jazz and more Jazz! This is one of my favorite places to visit when I'm in Detroit. The music is great and so is the food and drinks. Some of the well-known Jazz players have played here, and it's up and running many years later. It's very loud in there. Heads up, it's loud in there. This is a great place for date night or just hanging out after work. I'd leave the kiddos at home. The catfish and chicken was delish.

I was super excited to try this place out, seeing it’s the oldest jazz bar in the world. The music was great and the musicians have played with some of the best names in jazz/blues out there; super talented. Unfortunately everything else fell very sub par. The service was horrible, took over a hour and a half just to get our drink order and then another 35 to get the actual drinks. We were confused on who our server was as no one really checked on our table and most of the servers walked around and ignored us. We ordered our food at the begining of the set and didn’t receive our food until the musicians were done playing. Ordered the catfish and wings which was both cold and very bland. The sides ( yams and greens) were decent. Also the seating is extremely uncomfortable with booths that are quite literally coming apart at the seams. Also the ceiling was leaking. Disappointed at my experience but I am still glad to say at least I visited the world’s oldest jazz bar.
