Great work and social space. Perfect networking environment and exposure. You can feel the safe space.
Recently visited Bas Blue and noticed most of the staff looked cute and festive in Halloween costumes, like fairies and other fun themes. However, I was disappointed to see one barista dressed as a ‘fortune teller’ and referring to it as ‘gypsy.’ This costume was problematic, as it isn’t just a Halloween character—it’s a hurtful stereotype of Romani people . Seeing these outdated and culturally appropriative representations in a community space was disappointing. I hope Bas Blue will encourage more cultural sensitivity among staff to make the cafe welcoming for everyone.
What a delightful adventure. Ordered the salmon bowl and it was five stars! Salmon cooked to perfection, extraordinary tasteful sauce and a great variety of roasted veggies. Staff was top notch and could answer questions about food choices. Everyone is welcoming and the dining area was bright, clean and inviting.
Very friendly place, staff and customers were sweet, the patio chill, and the cappuccinos fantastic!
Love this place! For women by women- an incredible co-working space. The décor inspires greatness and uplifts the lives of prominent Detroit women.
The building was lovely, the decorations and furniture made everything feel so inviting. The staff were helpful and friendly. The food was delicious, we had the grilled cheese and tomato soup and honestly it was some of the best food I had during our vacation.
The setting of this historic building is lovely. The food was fresh, imaginative and delicious. The women running this cafe were welcoming, charming and delightful. I’m so excited to have discovered this treasure.
Staff was nice but the food is awful. The blue drink was decent, she made that drink for me after curdling the first two because the brand of almond milk used was either cheap or old. The soup was out of a horror movie. The atmosphere was okay but super pretentious. I would never come back, the building is cute tho and the garden is nice.
Atmosphere and food was excellent! The menu changes every 4 months, so I have to come back and try more! The turkey melt was delicious!
Really good service and attention to detail. Happy hour is cool there and food is delicious. Very good service.

Awesome in every way!
Incredible space and a great way to meet powerful folks in business and the entrepreneur space!
This was genuinely one of the best cafe experiences I have ever had. The coffee was so unique and beautiful with flavors that were incredibly complex. The food was next level, honestly. The avocado toast had so much flavor, it was truly unexpected to get all of the flavor that was involved with that dish. The cinnamon roll was soft, fresh and hot. This was amazing. I wish I lived downtown so I could come here every single morning.
The old historical mansion within itself is enough to create an engaging and inviting atmosphere. Upon entering the home elegance and class is to be expected, which is what you experience when charmed by the interior of the place. Along with the rich beauty, class, and charm the pastries are rich in taste as well and worth the visit!
1st time in this space. So peaceful and homey
