First time at the original Buddy's and it was everything you hope. Warm, friendly service, great atmosphere, and great pizza.
We had the original and the spicy Italian. Both pizzas had fantastic crust, but the Spicy Italian was our favorite. It had more flavor than the original, without being really spicy at all. Loved it.

I have worked nearby this original location for over 35 years. This is my company's go to place to eat or order food when we have visitors, especially out of the area ones. This is the iconic, original birthplace of Detroit style pizza! Something about the pizza ordered here just tastes better than that from the other locations around the city. My go to is the Detroiter pizza with a antipasto salad! The Detroiter is a pepperoni pizza with tomato basil sauce and Sicilian spices. But, you really can't go wrong with anything they make. (There is a secret menu too, or at least items they used to have on the menu that this location will still make - if you know what to order.) Their vinegar and oil salad dressing is famous too, but not to my taste. I'd rather have their in house made Ranch dressing - for salads and occasionally dipping the pizza into. So if you are ever in the area and want to try the best Buddy's Detroit style pizza, stop by this location! The building is a classic, some of the same great employees have been there since I moved here decades ago, and the food is great too. ...and wave as you go by my workplace too. 😊

Had lunch at Buddy's this afternoon the service was exceptional! Our server was Chris and he was fantastic!! He provided great service from start to finish and he even had an awesome personality! Patty the GM runs a great business. We visit this location every few weeks and we love it here. The whole staff is so welcoming and the restaurant is clean and so inviting. Plus the food is AWESOME!!!

Not a fan of tvs or bars, which is where I sat last time, but its a classic, its the classic. Probably the perfect leftover pizza, if you have any.

We were traveling with our purpose to stop by Buddy’s. Not only was the pizza great but so was our waitress. Love visiting places with great employees and fantastic food. We ordered the 4square cheese with pepperoni with both Wisconsin block cheese and motor city blend. It was very good. It’s definitely different than traditional pizzas, loved the crunchy crust!

My family gets pizza here often and it’s always delicious! Today was a particularly great customer service experience thanks to Rhonda and Monica. There was a computer issue with my online delivery order and they were very helpful in communicating over the phone as well as very pleasant and kind in person. It’s a fee experience dining in and taking out. Highly recommended!
