Food was good...service not so much. Got charged for a bread stick i never ordered. I just assumed it came with my meal since you put it on my plate. Auto Gratuity for 2 people? Not so cool either. I tip on service. Gratuity is for me to decide not you.. I can see if we had a big party. NOT a party of 2. I won't be back.

My first encounter with Buddy's Pizza was from the freezer section from a Chicagoland Meijer location. So when I visited Detroit it was only fitting that I have Buddy's Pizza for real life. Our waitress, Sam, was attentive and kind. I had the Motown Museum, a Caesar salad and a lemon drop. It was all Delicious! I really enjoyed having it fresh. The service was also quick. As a Chicagoan, Buddy's has cemented it's place in my Pizza loving heart.

Definitely not NY style pizza. The crust is soft and the tomato sauce seems different. That said, it is good but not as good as a NY or even Chicago style deep dish pizza. I do like their pepperoni pizza though.

We had a great experience at Buddy's in downtown Detroit! We were seated quickly and our server (Kennedy) came right over to take our drink orders. I asked her what she liked on the menu and she mentioned a few items, so I tried the Detroiter and Hawaiian pizzas. Both were delicious, as was the BYO pizza my spouse had. We will be back again. Give Buddy's a try!!

The service was top-notch from start to finish. The staff made us feel welcome right away, keeping the experience upbeat and easy, even with a busy game-day crowd. They had everything running smoothly, and our food and drinks came out quickly—no small feat with so many hungry fans pouring in.

The atmosphere is electric, especially before the first pitch. You’re surrounded by other spirited fans, decked out in Tigers gear, filling the place with energy and anticipation. The buzz of conversations, the laughter from tables nearby, and the clinking of glasses set the perfect pre-game mood. It feels like a gathering spot for the whole city—good vibes, great food, and a strong sense of Detroit pride.

I came right as soon as they opened at 11:00 a.m. and they were not busy.
I got the meat combo pizza with all different meats and it was great. I got the four corners which was the smallest they had and it was very good and very filling. It was cooked perfectly, the sauce was flavorful, and had a good amount of cheese and a good amount of meat.
Overall this is a great place serving authentic Detroit style pizza.

We searched for a great Detroit style pizza place and landed here. After eating it, I am not sure what the difference is between regular deep dish pizza (sans Chicago) and Detriot style pizza. Maybe there is cheese in the crust? I gotta be honest, I would not go out of my way to eat this, and therefore I give it 3 stars. Sorry. Service was average, but you should know the restaurant is going to charge you 20% gratuity automatically, so I can see how less than par service would cause issues. I will say the tiramisu here is NOT tiramisu, so skip that.

I had a wonderful experience at Buddy’s Pizza! From start to finish, everything was spot on.

The food was absolutely delicious — the Detroit-style pizza lived up to its reputation with a perfectly crispy crust, gooey cheese, and bold flavors.

What really made my visit stand out, though, was the service. My server, Lutece, went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, she made the meal even more enjoyable.

I also want to give a special mention to, the manager, who checked in to make sure everything was perfect. It’s rare to see management so hands-on and caring — it really shows the pride they take in their restaurant.

The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making this the perfect spot to enjoy a great meal in Detroit. I’ll definitely be coming back next time I’m in town!
