Candy Bar was our favorite high end cocktail bar in Downtown Detroit during our three day stint and boy did we try them all. Very cool art design, very inventive yet high quality cocktail menu, and Samuel & Angie were so nice and fun and knowledgeable. Definitely a rec if you like cocktails and a fun environment.

I had an outstanding experience thanks to Shaun behind the bar. From the moment I sat down, he was warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. He took the time to ask what flavors I enjoy and then crafted a custom cocktail that hit every note—balanced, creative, and beautifully presented. Beyond the drinks, Shaun kept the vibe welcoming and upbeat, checked in at the right moments, and made everyone feel like a regular. Give that man a raise!!!

Honestly do yourself a favor and don't bother coming here when there's much better places that have kind staff who treat you well (monarch club is around the corner).
We wanted to order more, but we were told by our waiter he was informed our 1hr 30min time limit has been reached. Meanwhile, there was 2 people that we came in with and got seated right before us that had just ordered more drinks. When I approached the hostess to ask about the time limit only being enforced on us, she lied and said the 2 people were only there for 20 mins. Also, as we were walking out there were open seats/tables that she claims were reserved for other parties. Seems like we were targeted, even though we spent $100 and were willing to spend even more. The behavior from the hostess was very unprofessional. From reading reviews it seems like many people have had issues with the treatment from the staff.
Nice warm, friendly vibe here. I had a Sol Dorado (with Don Julio Reposado tequila, Convite Mezcal, mango-chamoy cordial, mango liqueur, lime and tajin); also ordered the “I’m Pretty” ( w/ Lobos 1707 Reposado tequila, white rum, strawberry syrup, tres leches mix and whipped cream). I would describe this place as POSH.

Place is cute but it was disappointing. Our server came up to us and said our “time was up,” while no one else around us had this enforced. It felt very targeted. On top of that, when we said we wanted to order more drinks, they refused to let us.
When I asked the hostess, she denied it and lied, saying the people seated next to us had only been there for 20 minutes when we had walked in with them. We spent a 100, weren’t drunk or dressed inappropriately. There are better spots in Detroit, don’t recommend this one.

Great service good atmosphere. Special thanks to Shaun our waiter who was very attentive to our table and ensured everything was to our liking. He was very knowledgeable of the menu and took the time to explain when we had questions. He was fabulous! You guys lucked out with him!
The bartender/host Shaun is the main reason I come to candy bar. He’s attentive and gives the best suggestions for drinks whenever I come in. He always gives stellar service.
They had a crack head singing idk if it was part of the plan or not

Love the small concept!
The service was amazing!! The drinks are a bit expensive, my friend and I got a drink we weren’t very fond of and the staff was actually so sweet about helping us find the perfect cocktail for us and I really appreciate that. The atmosphere is beautiful!! They have little snacks which is nice and tasted yummy but the cheese and crackers are $15.. lol but definitely still a cute place. 10/10 recommend going and make sure you book a reservation!!
Didn't expect how small this place is. Felt very cramped and that our neighbors were sitting on top of us. I think it's an OK spot to grab a quick drink with a friend but would avoid for the romantic evening or a date. Definitely recommend a reservation and even then prepare to wait and be asked to leave at the end of their alloted time. Drinks were just ok, nothing special. Our server was very pleasant.
Beautiful bar and atmosphere! Very attentive staff, cool menu that changes with exceptional knowledge. Lots of options and definitely something for everyone! Great for photos and a night starter or finisher!
I stopped by here for a night cap after a concert, and yes, the prices are a little steep, but this is like a boutique bar. The service was beyond exceptional. The atmosphere... I felt like I was in a some kind of hybrid of White Stripes video's and a Stanley Kubrick movie. It was so cool and low-key at the same time, and warm. The hanging chandelier. The benches. The circular bar. Bench seats. Empire lamps. The servers were like actors in a movie, and I felt liked I was sitting in an imagined version of the future taken from the past. It's be a great setting for a neo noir film. And the quality of the drinks? Impeccable. If you need a night cap and are comfortable to the rates, it is certainly worth it.
