Captain Jay's Fish & Chicken

Food is always fresh.

The fish is always great. But there fries are soggy and there chicken tenders are not consistent.

My chicken was extra crispy.

They never have biscuits so if you’re looking for some biscuits, it ain’t there

Corporate needs to fire everyone, scrub the place from top to bottom, and hire a management staff that will hold everyone accountable. This place is horrible and I will never go here again. They are a bunch of nasty people. FYI: if you walk into a restaurant and the floors are sticky. Leave immediately because they are not cleaning anything. If their uniforms are dirty so are their hands. Beware!

On 7/6/2025. I ordered a 20 piece of legs and thighs. That came up to about 30 dollars. Was ready in 15mins. Picked up the chicken. I should've looked at it there. But got home, ready to eat. And when I looked at that chicken it was the worse looking chicken I have ever seen. ( I was so mad I forgot to take some photos) the chicken had been recooked. Half of the chicken was hard, no batter on half of the chicken. And it had no flavor at all. And it was for a family event! Do not go there worst Captain Jay's in the city! Very disappointed.

Absolutely awful customer service!!! They state they fix your order but give you a hard time doing so. They argued that there is difference in wings & whole wings. Maybe so but at a customer I wouldn’t know and it’s the job of the CASHIER to verify that I know exactly what I’m getting because apparently their verbiage is different than the rest of America’s. 100000% find a different location to patron.

They literally took two hours to make a 10 piece wing horrible service I seen the cook run to the liquor store while people were waiting on there food horrible

I travel across town specifically for this CJ's. They've have the best service, always have buttery biscuits, friendly, and cooked to order food. I orderedtge honey BBQ wings based on a review here, although they're great just like the reviewer said. My order was short a few wings (you order by 10, 15 etc) no big deal I knew I was going back the next day. I informed the young lady. I ordered them again. My order was not fixed from the previous day, and my order was short yet again. I order and pay for 20 wings, I expect 20 wings. I'm not asking for free anything, just what I'm being charged for. This is literally my only issue. I will say that my food delivery person said they were a bit overwhelmed and didn't quite know how to handle the crowd. Otherwise they've been good to me.

EVERYTIMEEEEEE I come my food is Made to order, ALWAYS hot, fresh and down right GOOD. ALways my go to when I want some honey bbq wings and guess what?.. they taste just like KFC'S.. no lie.

The frozen lemonade is EVERYTHINGGG 💝 My food was EXCELLENT the Captain J seasoning was on point. I didn't go inside and order I Uber eat it instead.

Food is good but the inside just like all the Detroit locations are outdated and dirty on the inside but the Sterling Heights location very clean. Very sad but the food is always good and hot at this location.

Ordered the cat fish snack dish yesterday and they sold me something else I didn’t want swai fish I think they call it and when I called them to ask for a manager it wasn’t one available smh never again!
