We visited the Checker Bar on January 9th 2025 after arriving into town from South Carolina. Our food was delicious and the service was even better! Our server was Matthew and he was awesome! The staff at the bar gave us a warming welcome and shower us how great of a city Detroit is. Next time we visit Detroit again we will for sure return!
Stop by for a drink -didn't order food but it did smell super good and it does comes out fresh from the kitchen -drink was so flavorful definitely gotta come back for some food
The food was pretty good, the service was fair, the aesthetics of environment was nice however, I was treated very poorly by a customer that the bartender said is a regular patron. It was around 12:30 am 9/15/2024. The customer whom I never seen or met in my life was referring to me as his this aunty, saying I was rude and mean for trying to get the bartenders attention. Although the bar wasn't that busy the bartenders had not acknowledge me after about 20 minutes of sitting...
