In short - a pretty unique restaurant for vegan food. We are from out of town but plan to visit again next time we're in the state.
Further-
Service was about what you'd expect at a restaurant. It was neither bad, nor exceptional. The staff was friendly and attentive.
Quality wise the food was mostly good, though some not so much. I got the Big Mock which is CMO's replica of the Big Mac. Now, I don't like Big Macs, but i LOVE trying burgers at restaurants so I gave it a try. I have to say that the flavor and everything was spot on. I didn't like it personally but I'm not marking down for that (i'd give it 5/5 by itself). If you liked Big Macs then you could have one here and love it! I'm marking Quality down because the CMO dogs were...medicore. I'd probably rate them 2/5. The vegan protein used just was terrible. We also had the Gyro and loaded fries, both of which were great so overall I think we had a mostly positive experience here, and just disappointed with the CMO dogs (and I should just know better when buying a Big Mock when I don't like Big Macs). I do wish that they had their own traditional style burger here. As of Nov 2019 they only had the Big Mock and the CMO King (replica of Burger King's whopper which i didn't try). I also wish that the vegan hot dogs used tasted better. I've had a good handful of vegan hotdogs and this was definitely towards the bottom of the list, which is disappointing considering the name of the restaurant is Chili Mustard Onions implying that they have good coney style hot dogs.
Value wise, this was about what you'd expect. Price was reasonable, and portion sizes were about what you'd expect. I do think the appetizer loaded fries was a bit on the small end of things, but entrees were reasonably portioned.
Vegan options is 5/5 because the whole restaurant is vegan. LOVE that.

This used to be one of my favorite spots. Every time I came back to Detroit. I was so disappointed to hear they closed.

Wow! This is one of the best restaurants in Detroit. I recommend coming here even if you aren't vegetarian/vegan. I recommend the CMO King and some cheese fries. It's pricey, but the portions are huge. You could easily get two meals out of one entree.

A couple friends took us here when we were in town because I had been saying "I wish somewhere made a vegan version of a Hani from National". This place DELIVERED. I ordered the Brush Park wrap and cheese fries and was not disappointed. My friend got the Chick-un parm which was also delicious. Would definitely go back again.

Been craving Detroit Coney Dog…. and guess what!? There’s a Detroit Vegan Coney Island Restaurant!!!!! OMG!!!!! Everything was so delicious. Even my non-vegetarian family thought it was great. Will for sure keep coming back and try everything else on the menu ?

Finally tried CMO!!All Vegan offerings-prices inline w most other places- absolutely worth it. Most meals come w fries. Good waffle fries. Good chili dog!The marinara on the ck'parm sandwich was delicious- coulda used alil more chicken /alil messy but filling when you clean your plate w the fries! Most menu items have themed names- organic condiments! at the table Thank you!! Wish they were open later. We dined in hour b4 they closed. imagine they are busyy during lunch hours! Great service! Worth a try even for carnivores

Start with the loaded nachos and end with a happy belly. Everything was tasty and came out in a timely manner. The server, Vincent, was friendly and knowledgable. We had so many questions, he was able to answer them all. We tried the chkn parmigiana sandwich, the pita, and the Coney and everything was so good! Also loved the huge selection of drinks offer. Must revisit soon!

This place was amazing. We got the chili dog and the gyro and both were so good. We had questions about food allergies and the staff were very good about knowing the ingredients and where we might have any cross contamination concerns etc. they even made sure to wipe down everything before putting our food together.
