Abundant seating, friendly staff and very reasonable prices. The sandwiches were very good and they served local sodas. Strongly recommend. Discovered by chance when visited Fisher building.

Very nice place. I usually go here once or twice a week for lunch. The staff are very friendly. The food is delicious and they give you nice portion sizes. The price is a little on the higher side but imo it's worth it. If you go during lunchtime, there's usually a long line, but they move fast so you don't wait too long. Recommended!

Food is good, a little pricey, however the staff could be a little more friendlier... what's up with the snobbish atttitude..??

A healthy salad and a alcohol free Sangria for dinner was just what I needed at the end of s stressful day. This is a gorgeous Art Deco looking place for a quick meal. It just opened in February, the first location of this famous bakery outside New York City. The actual bakery is in the basement directly below and when this place opens in the morning the pastries are ready fresh from the ovens. And some pastries they are! I especially love the Crispy Chocolate Chip Cookies and bought a bag of assorted delicacies to take home. The Coconut Macaroons and the large homemade Marshmallows are gorgeous. The salads are spectacular and you can mix several in the same bowl. This place is genius!

Service was lukewarm at best. Coffee was bland. The oatmeal raisin cookies felt and tasted old. Saw the flies around the baked goods after paying. All of this at a premium price. To be fair, this was towards the end of the day and everybody (and everything) may have been worn out.

Excellent food. Friendly staff. Generous portions. Nice ambience. Nuff said.

I enjoy City Bakery consistently. Their dishes have become saltier and saltier over time, which undermines them as a healthy alternative to other locations in New Center.

I came here on a Friday morning before noon. It wasn’t busy as it was still too early for lunch and I was able to order immediately. I ordered a shot of hot chocolate ($3) with marshmellow ($2), pretzel croissant, a chocolate chip cookie, and a salad bowls roasted brussel sprouts, chicken kale, cauliflower and bow tie pasta. Unfortunately, they didn’t have bacon dates or butternut squash today, which I’ve heard good things about. The salad bowl was decent. Not much flavor. I could’ve done without it. The hot chocolate was thick but its taste was slightly bitter. The marshmallow was good, especially when dipped in the hot chocolate. The famous pretzel croissant was good, but I prefer the taste of regular croissant as I wasn’t a big fan of the salty pretzel taste of the pretzel croissant. It was an interesting mix for sure though & I’d recommend it for those who likes pretzels and croissants (I’m not a big fan of pretzels in the first place so my opinion is kinda biased). The chocolate chip cookie was my favorite out of al the items! It was crunchy and soft. The chocolate chips were warm which made them melt in my mouth! Yum! I recommend the pretzel croissant and the chocolate chip cookie. The salad bowl and the hot chocolate can be passed over.
