Great service, ambience, food, and drink within the confines of history laden building and curiosities. Don't even question yourself on getting the cinnamon rolls, the answer is yes if they aren't sold out. The open face schnitzel was a fabulous breakfast take on the German staple, especially in the dead of winter with the hearty, homemade sausage gravy! The lamb Benedict was another twist on a breakfast classic that when paired with crispy hash brown straws and tzatziki , made for a breakfast winner! Then, the drinks. The OFA old fashioned puts any version of smoked old fashioned you may have tried before to absolute shame. What an incredible expression. Meanwhile, the midnight fog is a delicious bright delight where you don't even notice the alcohol presence of the gin and transports you to a sunny day on the beach when the coconut hits. Definitely recommend while in Corktown.
We reserved a high top, and we were placed at a low table near the door where freezing cold air would come inside the area and make the time there miserable. The hostess, in a mask, was very rude and just said no high tops were available. Well, if there are reservations, she needs to make sure that high tops are available. She needs to be trained better. And, take the masks off, we couldn't even understand here...barely. The food and drinks were excellent however. We just rushed out of there after eating based on the lack of a heater near the door. We went and had drinks at Sugar House instead. Lost funds for C&G. We might be back.
We love Cork and Gabel for brunch. The food is always amazing and they have something for everyone. Highly recommend the Chorizo Ranchero Bowl, and my husband lovesthe Ultimate Bloody Mary. One of our favorite places.
The food is amazing. The prices are actually very reasonable. The food comes out lightening fast and the drinks are crazy good. One of our new favorite places. We drive 40 miles simply to eat there. John, the bartender is AMAZING.
cocktail drinks are amazing I especially like the key lime drink! The food was good except for the lamb kabob was dry and wrapped in pita bread French fries were overcooked and cold, something you would get at a coney island. Otherwise ambiance and service were excellent.
Good overall brunch spot, albeit with a limited menu. Our brunch items were nicely prepared, and the service friendly
Great location with awesome views! A historical gem with a great story. Ambiance and food were awesome! Good location with friends.
Very nice bar and restaurant. They kept the elements of an industrial workshop. Service was good. Food was good. Slightly busy due to Detroit Lions GameDay. Had brunch menu.

The ambience and atmosphere in the century-old building is fascinating. We ordered from the Brunch menu. Both the German Doner and Omelette were excellent, with generous but not overwhelming portions. Our server was efficient, attentive and charming. The Corktown Spritz (Aperol and Ginger Beer) from the Brunch Drinks menu is delicious and distinctive.

Food, service and ambiance were all very good. Women's restroom could have used a little attention to cleanliness but overall good dining experience.
The food we've tried is delicious, and the service outstanding. Make it a field trip by visiting Michigan Central Station which is in walking distance. And check out the online FAQ that describes prior inhabitants of the restaurant since 1910, and the many very interesting historic features there.

I had the salmon and potatoes and it was served hot , was so good, and our waitress was very attentive!
First time for brunch and our omelets served with potatoes and toast were delicious! Spicy Bloody Mary's came with a skewer of munchies- salami, cheese, pickle, etc! The whole bartending staff are friendly and informative about their new bourbon offerings! Can't wait to go back!
Had an early dinner before an evening event and was able to take advantage of the Happy Hour pricing on drinks. My Old Fashion with Elijah Craig bourbon for $10 was a steal, and delicious. I had the Italian Chopped Salad and added a portion of grilled chicken. The salad with extra protein was a full meal, and the basil vinaigrette was tasty.
The interior space is open and airy, with high exposed beam ceilings. There's bar seating, and an assortment of 4-6 seat tables, plus a number of very long 15'-20' tables.
I arrived a few minutes late, and trying to flag down our server took more effort than expected. Once I'd ordered a drink and food, service was on point.
One HUGE plus for me was the water! Detroit tap water is infamously chlorinated and hard - Cork & Gabel filters all the water served to diners. I typically don't have ice in my drinks, but I had forgotten to order my cocktail 'up', versus on the rocks. The jumbo cube of ice was clear as crystal! And the free glass of cool clear water (without ice nor straw) was refreshing. I greatly appreciate this extra effort and expense Cork & Gabel go to for their diners!
