This place is definitely a hidden jewel......great food at reasonable price for people with sophisticated taste in Detroit's historic West Village. Sadly they will be closing their doors soon and forever, unless we can bombard them with business and convince landlord to not increase rent to a price they can't afford. A must visit place...for a meal or just a cocktail....they also have a great Happy Hour till 6pm.

After a tough night at work, 2 friends invited me out to to is favorite spot. I thought for sure my GPS failed me. A beautiful trip through some side streets, not another soul around. What had this suburban girl gotten herself into at 11pm on a Thursday? I called my friend to meet me outside, I was at the address but there was nothing there. She popped her head out, waved me in and have me a sloppy smile that only a delicious/innovative Happy Hour can give.

1-23-2020: Nice ambiance but that is where it starts and ends. Ordered a burger for $15 with fries extra for $4. I asked for medium well. Waitress stated chef prepares ONLY medium rare or well done!! I ordered well done as waitress said it would be good. I should have ordered the soup! Server brought fries first followed by burger plate 5 mins later. He announced here's the black angus burger.

Bar service is friendly and knowledgeable. Killer happy hour, including food and drink specials. A little higher end but priced so you can feel good about treating yourself to cocktail hour, and supporting a local business too. Also a dope location and consistently yummy dinner menu.

I absolutely love this restaurant! The food is amazing, the staff is very polite and knowledgeable about the menu, and everything is made in house. With the exception of the chemical free alcohol that they serve. The fried chicken is delicious beyond belief and the bacon braised greens are the perfect side. This is a must try!!! The ambiance is chill yet fun. You will definitely be glad that you decided to visit. Be sure to call and make a reservation, even if it's when you are on your way. The wait won't be too bad. They also offer wine tastings!

I've been coming to craft work for some time and Always leave full and satisfied. Ryan always gives our table the best service! We love when he is there, he knows what to recommend of the menu! The happy hour chicken wings are always a favorite.

I heard great things about this place. But I heard the same type of hype about Write and Co. and didn't find that place to be up to all the the hype. Let me tell you. This place has amazing food. YUM. I had this special shrimp dish with the complex sauce that was hit all the yum spots. We went through the menu like.. yes, we need to try that. Oh that looks amazing. We had a lot of food. We finished most of it. Décor: 3 out of 5 Food: 5 out of 5 Drinks: 4 out of 5 Service: 5 out of 5 Cleanliness: 4 out of 5

Wow, the most recent review of this busy and great West Village spot is almost 3 months old! I have always liked Craft Work. It's unique. There is a broad mix of patrons, which makes it fun. They have a more formal front section with tables, and an invigorating and large bar area, with both bar seating and community hi tops. I've dined in all sections, but enjoy the bar feel most of the time. The bartenders have always been friendly, knowledgeable, and they talk to you like a real person, not a robot. I appreciate this. I've had some incredible food from the chef over the years. The burger is always delicious. I had fried chicken with spicy maple syrup and bacon one time....which I will never forget. But the food is always thoughtful and well executed. Someone here...cares...about food, not just feeding people in exchange for money. The beer, wine, spirits and cocktail program has always been solid, and it continues to get better. The last time I dined and drank here, it was exceptional. I heard the original owner brought in a new GM/Partner this Fall, to free up some of his time for other projects. And if my info is correct, the new guy is an icon in the city, having launched several successful projects into greatness, from what I've read, and experienced personally. I think we can all plan on Craft Work continuing to excel, while staying unique in the ever-expanding D food scene. Cheers! Note: I've never had a problem parking here, either in Craft Work's parking lot, or on the street. The neighborhood feels safe and established.

old school bar, nice and dark, great server. The dirty martini was somewhat lame, but still drinkable (no olives in a dirty martini?). Interesting menu, but I didn't eat there.
