This deli and coffee cafe near the medical school is a real find! The atmosphere is fantastic, and the food is incredible. Seriously, you'll find the best prices on the block here.
It's super convenient for anyone in the area, and they're always fast and efficient. Plus, the workers are absolutely amazing—always friendly and helpful. Also, the cheapest food on the block cannot get any better!

I am a nurse that work in the Wayne State University area. One morning I was hungry, but I don’t usually eat breakfast, so I walked to the light Café deli and all I asked for was a scrambled egg on a croissant.. My breakfast sandwich came with a fried egg and cheese and a greasy has brown in the middle. THAT’S NOT WHAT I ASKED FOR !!!! I said to the cook “my sandwich was supposed to be scrambled.. and I never said cheese! the cook stated “ that is scrambled 🤔”!but it was fried. I wanted to throw the sandwich it in his face, but I’m a Professional so I held back. I will never eat there ever again😤Customers be aware!!

we stopped this afternoon and was truly amazed at how delicious the food there was ! The staff was polite and friendly too. I had the steak & cheese sub with fries, both were delicious and fries were crispy My wife's Chipotle chicken & cheese wrap was overflowing with both chicken and cheese! absolutely delicious! We will definitely be going back . I highly recommend this Cafe to everyone, you will not be disappointed!

TAYLOR location. Tried for first time yesterday. Food was good, cashier super friendly. However, cleanliness is an issue here. Floors very sticky. Tabletops dirty/sticky. Trash can has smell. You know what they say about first impressions... I'll try again soon and see if it was a fluke.

I always pass by Delite Cafe & Deli in Taylor and always say I want to try it and today I finally did! (12/17)
The sandwich was perfect (Reuben w/ slaw), soup was hot and very good (broccoli cheese), and the girl behind the counter with really pretty pink Christmas nails was super nice and helped me order because I was confused 🤣 She knew every answer to every question and checked on me while I ate in the lounge area. The man cooking was very nice and asked me how everything was and invited me back. Prices were extremely reasonable as well. Nowadays I feel like it’s hard to find good customer service pretty much anywhere and they were amazing!
I also never leave reviews but that made my day so I’m happy to share my experience!
10/10 recommend!
