Tonight I ordered the Fish Combo with Hilsa from Deshi Bhoj Restaurant on Conant, and honestly, the experience was unbelievable. The combo came with Hilsa fish, Aloo Bhorta, and Dal, and the quantity and quality were beyond explanation.
And the taste — oh my goodness — so, so, so tasty. What shocked me the most is that this was an online DoorDash delivery order, yet all the food was fresh, truly fresh. Normally, when you order a combo, it comes with two or three curries and rice, but it’s rare to get everything fresh through delivery. I’ve tried food from so many restaurants, and this is the first time I received such fresh food in an online order.
This is what you call authentic Bangladeshi taste. I can challenge anyone: if you have cravings for real Bangladeshi food, this restaurant is highly recommended. Highly, highly, highly recommended.
I don’t know about their other dishes, but the one I ordered was superb — truly superb. From the very first bite, I felt like it was my responsibility to share this with the community. The quality, quantity, taste — everything was just speechless.

Food is delicious and the owner is gracious. I ate and packed rest of it for my dinner. Deshi combo with 1 bhorta, fried hilsha fish (2 pieces), daal and salad was awesome, I added goat curry and begun bharta to it. Rosomalai was so good. Loita bhorta and aloo bhorta was yummy to eat with daal n rice. Hilsha fry with green chili and oil in which it is fried is still making me salivate. Goat curry reminded me of homemade curry. Overall highly recommend this gem on Detroit for authentic Bangladeshi food.

The first look at the restaurant made me a little skeptical, to be honest, about having dinner at Deshi Bhoj. However, I was blown away by the quality of their food. Freshly cooked vegetables, Loitta bhorta, Kala bhuna, Aloo bhorta, daal, and rice were of super quality. Mr. Mahfuz, the gentleman at the counter, was extremely helpful and courteous. We stayed three days in Detroit. And we made a point to go there and have lunch and snacks every day. I highly recommend this place for people interested in having tasty and authentic Bangladeshi food. Keep it up!!

I regret visiting their place. I ordered chicken vuna khichuri and the chicken that was used was not cooked properly and due to that there was blood left on the chicken. When I tried telling them about this issue they ignored me and that was very disappointing.

In terms of Food, Service and Atmosphere, Deshi Bhoj is just amazing. The people are very accommodating, and takes the time to explain. Food is great in terms of quality and quantity, nothing pre cooked...tastes like home cooked. Also like the option of selecting specie level, really helps when you have kids who may not like spicy food. Great Restaurant by all means.
Food was not good at all. We ordered French fries- they were hard. We also ordered Chot Poti and it came out cold. The server said it came out cold because we ordered a big order. The fuscka was not that good. Save yourself the money and do not come here.
