Went in and asked if I can sit at the bar the lady was acting like she didn’t want to sit me there.. I ask for a cocktail menu and she didn’t take that order until my food came out they may not like black people or something the waitress/bartender was rude I thought I’d try the restaurant bc I’m a supporter of the taco truck… not anymore

Everything I've ordered from here is incredible. Staff is very kind and gave my kid a free horchata when we stopped in for pozole and their fantastic jalapeno salsa. Burritos are huge and delicious too! I will go out of my way to eat their food here. Inside the restaurant is beautifully decorated, great atmosphere!! Can't recommend enough.

Best carne asada I can say I ever had. Fresh salsas, excellent pozole and the kids loved the nuggets. Waitress was slammed on the holiday yet still took great care of us. Cannot wait to try more.Excellent campechano and birria tacos

UPDATE: Again today we went to Palapa for the 2nd time to give them an opportunity. It was a worse than the first time. At least the food was good. Not this time, it was awful, cold sopa de arroz, salty milanesa, and cold tacos. how can you serve cold meat tacos? where was this food at? in the fridge from the night before? asqueroso, never again. And again they added 20% tip without telling us, we tipped 10dls on a 34dls check cash since it was not her fault, the cashier though, she is the one who added the tip. Just a poorly run business. Stay away, never never never agfain.November 2022: Food is good, alcohol prices are high, sorry 10 dollars for a rum a coke? The main reason for the 1 star is because 20% gratuity was added to the bill and the server did not tell us. On a 90dls bill, 18 dollars were added and we tipped 25dls so she got 43dls. Not opposed to make a good living but you have to be honest, do not presume that people read the bill. I was a bartender for many years, I would never do that if I wanted to have regulars, just not right.

We eat here pretty frequently. For good reason. The food and service are excellent. The owner is from Jalisco, so the seafood options are better than your average authentic Mexican establishment too. You should try the award winning mango habenero margarita.Food: 5/5

The ambience is so cute! The pictures on the wall are bright and cute. The chairs are super comfortable and cute. Definitely a place to take family and friends. We had botanas to start with and their botanas were different from ones I've had in the past. I was hesitant at first but, I have to admit I loved it. Definitely my new favorite spot to go and grab a botana from. (Armando's used to be my favorite but their food quality has vastly declined). The waitress we had wasn't attentive at all. She wasn't able to give us any recommendations for an entree either. However, another woman noticed us having a difficult time with her and she stepped in to help us get out bill, refills, and the tortillas I waited over 20 minutes for that came wi to my meal. All in all the food quality is fantastic! I would def recommend stopping by this spot to eat :)

The atmosphere was very festive and friendly. We parked in the back and walked into an outdoor covered area, where people were sitting. Found out this was another eating area, very casual. There was a door to access the inside. Love the inside decor, huge bar area, long counter for carry out orders, lots of seating, wall art. We choose to sit outside, very cute wooden booths seating - four people. It's next to the street and flanked by the sidewalk so expect some sounds. Still we loved sitting outside. Our first waitress didn't speak English, and I speak a little Spanish. She has another waitress who was not only fluent in English but extremely knowledgeable about the restaurant, the food & drink menu, their awards, and a super cool person. I wish I could remember her name it sounded so beautiful when she told us. It was a special occasion so I selected a beverage called La Llorona for my foster daughters birthday. The bartender, who was was super friendly and really knows how to make a beverage, served it at the table in a wooden box, when he opened the lid smoke poured out. The drink mug was covered with a savory syrup on one side, needless to say it was beautiful and tasty. My daughter is vegetarian so they accommodated her by removing meat and adding roasted fresh jalapeno, and onions to the order. I had their award winning Birria tacos, very meaty, marinated and delicious. Definitely worth the trip to Detroit. Love, love, loved the experience! Looking forward to returning soon!Vegetarian options: By requestKid-friendliness: Families are accommodatedParking: Lot located behind restaurant.

The tortillas were freshly made on the spot. The tacos are soft yet slightly crunchy the way I like them. The place has an authentic vibe with all their decor and Mexican art on the walls.

I really wanted to love this place. It's deep into a neighborhood, is adorable, and the staff is friendly. It ok. Would I return? Possibly. I am a vegetarian and ordered bread flautas (not on the menu, but most places will happily sub beans for meat). I was with 5 others and all of their food came out and THEN she tells me they can't do bean flautas. Sigh. They were halfway done eating before I got my food. The prices are a little high for lunch (the only times I've been there). Give it a try and hopefully you'll love it!

great food, very slow kitchen

Great food but the service is APPALLING. My food sat ready under the lamp in the kitchen (I could see it) for 15 minutes while I asked two different waitresses to get it for me. I had to go get it myself after 20 minutes while they counted out their tips, one girl swept the floor and the other...well I don't know what she was doing. She just made herself look busy without going inside. Wish I hadn't tipped now.

Loved my food! The Burris tacos were amazing and so was the quesadilla! I'd like larger quesadillas lol but that's it.
