I really like the drinks and atmosphere of this bar, but it's way too understaffed. The drinks take way too long to come out to the point where I couldn't enjoy being there. It seemed like the server was unable to adequately service all the tables. I ended up leaving early after being annoyed by the inability to get a drink. Definitely would not come back here, especially on a weekend.

LOVE THIS PLACE BUT MY LAST EXPERIENCE LEFT MORE TO BE DESIREDSo the only reason this place isn’t getting a 5 star from me is from my most recent experience. I brought a date here because I had been bragging on how great this place was for a while and it finally worked out for us! I’ve been about 5 times total but this most recent time our service was god awful. We were there for an hour and half and our waitress only came to check on us once when we first sat down. We waited about 40 minutes for our second drinks to be ordered while we watched her go to every table in the surrounding area and not even bother to come check on us. I eventually had to GO TO THE BAR to get our second drinks and almost had to ask a different waitress for my bill because she was just uninterested in us apparently. HOWEVER please don’t let this discourage you from attending this establishment!!! I absolutely love it here but this service experience was a 0/10. The drinks and music a definite 12/10 ?.

Bartenders are flat out rude, not pleasant. Everything else is nice but if something as simple as being kind is hard there are other bars.Go Lions!

I’ve been to this bar multiple times and have sat in the dining area with great service. Tonight, my husband and I sat at the bar and WOW, totally different experience. The bartenders were extremely rude and unprofessional. Tonight gave us a different view on this place and sadly we will not be returning because of their behavior. Management needs to find different people to represent their establishment because I know we are not the first to leave because of this issue. So disappointing, but thankfully we will find another business in Detroit to support. Go Lions.

My friend took me to evening bar for the first time last night and it was a beautiful bar. Modern art deco decor and wonderful cocktails. Shiva was amazing. I had to decide between two cocktails and she described them both in detail that helped me make my decision. I decided on one and it was perfectly up my alley and just as she described. She was so friendly, quick, and attentive even with quite a few guests she was helping. 10/10 will definitely be back. Cocktails were perfectly balanced and had distinct flavors and profiles

Fun little speakeasy style hotel bar inside Shinola. Very dimly lit interior and a smaller intimate space. Good spot for a pre or post dinner drink and snack for a smaller group or couple. Staff was friendly and it's worth a stop in!

One of my favorite bars in detroit. The ambiance is absolutely perfect. The drinks are somehow even better.

Was a guest at hotel and went to bar after event. Ordered a drink at bar and asked where we were sitting. Drink never came after 10 plus minutes and we were approached that table was reserved. No one was sitting guests and there were 3 tables empty. We got up and left.

Ambience is nice but the bartender with the curly black hair is the rudest gentleman I’ve ever met. Snaps his fingers and tells me and my guest he’s talking to us and to order when we are browsing the menu. Made other rude comments and management had to apologize on his behalf. Music is also gets super loud and its pretty cramped. Too many nicer bars in the area to revisit here.

No elbow room. Overpriced. 30min wait for 1 drink, and another 30min wait to cash out after asking for the check 4 times and then having to go get it myself.

My girls and I visited the Evening Bar this past Saturday night (11/18) after our Friendsgiving brunch. We made reservations for 11:15pm and got down there in time but parking was crazy!!! I ended up valeting at the Shinola Hotel, but by the time I walked in the door, we had just missed our reservation by 5 minutes. Flustered by the evening’s events, we were about to throw in the towel and leave.I just have to give a kudos to the hostess Daji! She was so caring, accommodating and helpful. She advised that while they didn’t have another table, she could offer me three seats together next to the bar. As I waited for my friends, she checked in on me and offered a table that became available. She even went the extra mile to show them where I was sitting after they had lost their way trying to find the bar through the hotel. Because of the amount of time and care she took, it made us feel welcome and special. We were able to refocus and get our night back on track. We will definitely be back!Thank you Daji for showing us that nice, caring people still exist!
