I live in Saginaw I drove all the way to Detroit because this is my new favorite spot. Hands down y’all this man put his all into his cooking. Everything was fresh meat not old. That darn Goat meat Egusi and fufu was heaven sent. I finally tried the jelloff rice omgggggg babyyyyyy he did that. Soooo good bout to order more I decided to get me a hotel room haha and eat up. Hands down THE BEST IN MICHIGAN NO CAP…

I wouldn’t eat here again. Puff puff was reheated in the microwave and was inedible, it tasted like it had sat out too long. The goat was tough. I guess the egusi was fine, but the other stuff made the food gross.

***I don’t understand all the rave 1/10 food Unfortunately I thought the food was disgusting. My Nigerian boyfriend makes me Egusi and pounded yam often and I clean my plate everytime. I ordered the stewed chicken plate and the jollof is decent but very greasy and wasn’t anything special. I got 2 tiny plantains thar were HARD and almost black ( old ) when I bit into it. The side veggies was only 1 big fork of purple cabbage not the carrots onions and mixed veg advertised in a lot of insta videos. I also got the egusi and fufu ( yet it said pounded yam under the description - pounded yam and fufu aren’t the same thing ) the fufu was hard , taste old , the egusi was TERRIBLE , it had an off putting taste / taste like some chemical like cleaning chemical or something that didn’t belong , I like to eat I don’t throw food away yet I couldn’t eat this , I threw it away. ( I did however take it out trash and take it back up there which I was glad I got a refund but the owner couldn’t even speak 2 words to me to apologize for my experience ) I was so excited to try this food truck I even came up there the day before and realize I came the wrong day went home and came the next day - that’s how high my hopes were. What I got did not taste fresh was very greasy , no hint of spice period and that chemical taste in the Egusi and hard stale tasting fufu , I would NEVER try this food truck again. I’ll stick to my boyfriends Egusi and pounded yam. Oshey.
*** my review might help someome else. It wasn’t about it not being like my boyfriends - I mentioned food being old , stale , and having chemical taste ! A review is just that.

I ordered Egusi with Poundo. The egusi was so watery and pounded yam a size of two table spoons. The taste wasn't authentic either. (And they don't have assorted meat!)
And it's ONLY for take out, it's a food truck, no tables outside.
At least I know that I won't eat there again nor would I recommend it.

I ordered the Jollof plate with chicken. I called not too long before closing, maybe about a little over 20 minutes, and placed my order over the phone because their online ordering site was closed for the day.
They confirmed which location I wanted to place my order with (I confirmed for the Livernois location, the food truck). I started making my way there and my food was ready when I arrived. I didn't eat my food until much later that night as I decided to explore the neighborhood since I was in town from elsewhere, and this was my first time in Detroit.
Later that night, when I rewarmed and ate my food, I was not disappointed. The portion was generous and I could not finish it that night, since I was not extremely hungry. But I finished it the next morning and it was just as delicious! I would recommend this place to others, and I would eat there again if I were to visit Detroit again, which I likely will.

I have eaten at just a handful of food trucks & I will say that this was the cleanest and most pleasant experience I have had. I am all about Nigerian food and honestly this is the best jallof rice and suya beef recipe I have had in years, I liked the options and timeliness of the staff and so pleasant!! My family was pleased with the portion size and I only wish I would’ve tipped 50% instead of my average 30%… Please keep doing what you all are doing!! I love it!

Terrible service. I placed an order at Afro Future for three plates of jollof rice and had a really frustrating experience. They didn’t provide any napkins or proper covers—just one cover for all the food. One of the younger staff members tried to assist, but another lady seemed completely uninterested in helping.
To make things worse, the food was disappointing. The jollof was overly salty, and the stew tasted like store-bought Prego sauce. I wouldn’t normally complain, but the poor service and bad attitude made it impossible to stay quiet. Definitely not worth the $65 I spent.
These fools really think it's up to the customer to get their attention LOL how about learn greet anyone new walking up to the window like EVERY SINGLE OTHER COMPANY AND EVEN FOODTRUCKS IN EXISTENCE

If you go here expect to stand at the window for 10min while ur food is done and just sitting there and them ignoring you cooking and then asking why you didn't say anything when they finally offer the smallest amount of customer service and acknowledgement of your walking right up basically inside the window

I was genuinely excited to finally try Fork in Nigeria on Livernois yesterday. Living on the outskirts of Detroit, I make it a point to support local Black-owned restaurants whenever I’m in the city, and this spot had been on my list for a while. Sadly, the experience left me completely disappointed.
I arrived around 7:50 pm and placed a large order: oxtail with egusi fufu, oxtail with rice, a side of plantains, red snapper, and a zobo drink. From the start, the owner/chef seemed annoyed or frustrated while taking my order, but I brushed it off, assuming it had just been a long day. He read my order back multiple times, so I thought everything was clear. He quoted me 25 minutes. I didn’t get my food until 9:00 pm. I was patient because I saw he was working alone and customers were coming in.
When I finally got my food, he admitted he “made a mistake” and put the red snapper on rice instead of on the side. I let it slide, thinking maybe he swapped the sides but still included my oxtails. Then I realized he didn’t give me my drink. When I went back, he handed me a half-filled cup of zobo with a chunk of frozen ice. At that point I was annoyed, but I decided to just take my food and leave.
The real frustration came when I got home. After waiting over an hour and spending $90, I opened my bag to find nothing but rice dishes, no egusi at all. The very thing I was most excited to try was missing. At that point, I was beyond upset.
I tried to be understanding of the wait, the attitude, and even the mistakes, but to spend that much money, wait that long, and not even receive what I ordered is absolutely unacceptable. This was supposed to be a treat, something I had been looking forward to after seeing all the hype and TikTok reviews. Instead, it was a huge letdown.
Fork in Nigeria… DO BETTER!!! GET HELP! You cannot do this alone, and it shows. People are traveling, spending hard-earned money, and trusting you to deliver what they ordered. I left angry, disappointed, and feeling like my time and money were completely wasted.
You’ve lost a customer.
One of my fave spots in the city! Love the stewed chicken, always fresh and great if you love spice.

I’ve gotten food from them in the past and it was good. I order the Jollof meal with red snapper. The rice lacked the authentic taste, the red snapper lacked seasoning and it had a dry and rubbery texture. There was some red sauce that was poured all over it. I didn’t care for it at all, it was poured all over the fish, and plantain. I can’t say that it was 100% nasty but I also can’t say that it was really good either. I don’t think I will be back. I will take the time to travel to KG’s or somewhere else. I spent around $44 and I’m mad at myself. I’m not sure what changed but it shows in the food.
