Dirty B****** Scottish Ale for me, Solid gold for the lady. All the beers here are sooo… good, you can’t go wrong. Parking is a hassle especially on game days.
Having been long time fans of Founders Beer when in the Detroit area it was a must to make a stop. At first as you start approaching you find the area a bit disconcerting with all the abandoned.building and empty lots. Don’t fret as before you know it Founders little piece of heaven appears. They do have a parking lot dedicated and fenced. The red brick building is impressive and has a large outdoor area that is well fenced inThe atmosphere is bright and well designed. The place is quite large especially when adding the outdoor area with two fire pits. They have an event area too.Came here for the beer and it was exceptional. Large selection on tap and they have many dark brews. Took some home too.The food selections is huge. Their pretzel is great! Order the BLT which was excellent. They are known for the Mac and cheese, got a small side of it. It was delicious.Service was fast, attentive, and professional. My server went above and beyond. This was fun and would come back without hesitation. If you are a fan of Founders this is must do!!
Was walking through Detroit and came upon this brewery. Great atmosphere, delicious beer, and tasty food. What more can you ask for?!Definitely a great spot to enjoy a beer with your friends, or colleagues, or whomever you want to enjoy a delicious treat with!Great service and friendly staff.
They were very busy for a Thursday night and understaffed but they did a great job keeping the beers and food flowing! Beer and food were fantastic as always!
My husband and I love Founders - the beer, the food, the atmosphere are all stellar. We also LOVED the pizza and I wish they would bring it back! Even if there were a dedicated "pizza night" or it was "order and pay ahead" for the pizza, it would be well worth any extra effort. That being said, we certainly will continue to come to Founders and enjoy all the other great aspects of the restaurant.
Went there the end of October with my brother. We had a great time. The beer was good. The service was great. I'm looking forward to going back the next time I'm in town.
Great beers and good service. Wait staff was great too. Fireplaces outside for another good hangout area. We were there for a breakfast special event and had a great time!
Stopped here back in late October of 2019 and returned 3 years later and found it better than ever. Alex was amazing! She took great care of us and the rest of the staff was awesome as well. Never a disappointment with Founders beers. Can't wait to return.
We were on the really nice patio which even in lower temperatures accommodates you quite well. There were nice bon fires and when required additional gas heater. It was an early Friday, so it was not too full. The waitress was polite and attentive. We never had to wait to order our next beer. They also have a 3 Dollar pint deal, which is nice. It was an amber IPA this time. Amber is not my favorite kind of beer, but with that hoppier note it was quite decent. It brings you to try new styles of beer. The rubeaus beer also was quite good, could be more sour and less sweet, but still. My third beer was the All Day Chill Day. Can only recommend it!In terms of food I only had the small bowl of chili, which was decent. A bit too much cumin (I believe it was cumin but could be wrong) to my taste.Overall 4.75/5Oh and watch out, the fire might be hot.
My wife and I reserved the Barrel Room for a wedding welcome event of about 80 people and the accommodations were perfect. The food was spot on and obviously the beer was flowing. Josh and his crew took great care of our group and any need was met with expediency. We utilized the AV system for a looping slideshow and the microphone for a toast speech. Everyone had a proper Michigan time! Highly recommend having a private event here and your guests will be rather pleased (and buzzed).

My friend and I came in at 7pm on a Sunday when it said they closed at 10pm. We waited 10 minutes before anyone came over (there was 6 people at the bar) and asked what we would like to drink and we're completely ignored for the next 45mins. The beer was good so we ordered 2 more cashed out and left. I doubt we'll ever go back. Only reason I'm giving it 1 star is because the beer was good.
I have the Rubin Rebun it was good
Waited 1 hour to sit to then be told kitchen was busy and could not order food! Absurd! Never go back
If I could give 0 stars I would. A couple friends of mine and I stopped here for a drink and food after I had told them about this place. We get there only to be turned down and told that we aren’t allowed to get any beer but only food and the manager would not tell us why. We are all of age obviously, but we didn’t even get to that point. They basically turned us down the moment we walked in due to another group that came in before us because they had been a bit noisey. We explained that we are not with them but they still refused to serve us. Take your hard earned money and spend it literally anywhere but here, there are a ton of great brewers in Detroit, try those before you ever think to try founders. Detroit Brewing Company has great beer and great food, and on top of that they will never refuse you service!
