I really miss this place. I haven't been here in four years since I transferred from WSU, but I went here every other day and got my own pot of tea and sat to study. I love this place. I really hope it's still there when I come to visit! Also love that it's by the DIA. Such a quiet calm atmosphere to relax.

Really good service and food

A top scene for quality Cafe food. Entered near nine, it wasn't busy. I had a brother come into town and he asked me to go back here. Prices are appropriate for the quality. Like a restaurant in Washington I loved.

I loved this place at first, specifically their homemade snacks. However, recently I have been disappointed. The chicken salad that i got was stale and had sour grapes in it. The veggies burger also was stale and smelled bad. I like the staff, they are friendly, but I don not think it is fair to sell sth old to costumers.

Nice cookie and an excellent cup of tea. (From a Brit)

Artsy little gourmet coffee shop on Woodward Ave. in the Park Shelton building. It's a good shop to go to for a quick caffeine fix. They offer Cortado, cappuccinos, lattes, espresso and a few other popular coffee drinks. Most of the drinks seemed to be only available in one size. Whole milk alternatives are available. The menu at Fourteen East also consists of a variety of baked goods such as scones and cookies. I ordered a $5 cappuccino with almond milk that is packed with yummy espresso flavor. The space is large enough to accommodate groups; meetings, and seemed quiet enough that if one wanted to bring their laptop they could work in peace while enjoying a cup of gourmet java. There is seating towards the back for more incognito visitors, and large windows up front for people watching on Woodward. There is a coupon offered on their website and also a Yelp check-in coupon available.

Never really knew about this place until I walked directly past it and decided to stumble in. The baristas are always tremendously welcoming and willing to answer any questions you have about their menu. I recommend the Mexican Chiapas in a pour over, and the chicken artichoke quiche is amazing!

Generally I love visiting to study but recently I was very disappointed after trying their "chocolate truffle" hot chocolate. It was basically warm milk with very, very little chocolate. When I asked if I could get more chocolate they offered me again more warm milk. Definitely not worth $4.

Very bougie stop for a cup of coffee... heavily judged for not being in businesswear, it felt. Tried two different roasts, both french pressed, for both to taste like a wet paper bag. If you're going for an upscale setting for a meeting or something, go for it, but if you're looking for more than a (pretentious) space, head across midtown (to Bikes and Coffee, or Great Lakes) for a far superior beverage.

I started coming here last year for a quiet place to study and get some work done. I live in Midtown but many coffee shops near Wayne's campus are crowded with students and it's hard for me to concentrate with a lot going on around me, with how hard a lot of the spots around here are trying to be edgy lately. Fourteen East is my favorite spot in Midtown to pop in for a coffee and to get some work done. Management's music choice is ALWAYS on point, service is friendly and efficient, and while the smaller tables are better for intimate conversation or a quick coffee break, the large tables allow you to stretch out with friends (or alone if they're not busy) and there's always space at the bar. The coffee's pretty good, the hot chocolate is nothing special, and the pastries are out of this world. What keeps me coming back here, though, is the music, the atmosphere, and the sheer amount of work I've gotten done in this little coffee shop. Definitely worth checking out for a study/date spot if you live in the area.
