Very alright single origin pourover for 5.50. Matcha latte was solid, but extremely sweet. Girlfriend and I both decided we'd stick with our usual spots instead of trying this place out again

Visiting friends in Detroit who recommended this place as a coffee stop after visiting Eastern Market across the street.
Three young female employees working at the coffee shop. The one taking orders at the cashier was fine at first. Placed my pour over coffee order, and I asked if she needed to put a name to the order, since i had heard names being called out for orders as they became ready. She responded “oh yea” and took down a name. Odd interaction. I went back in line after choosing to get a bag of coffee beans. Some of her friends came into the store and she basically paid me no attention as I stood in front of the payment area to get the beans as she was talking to her friends behind me. Finally she redirected her attention after a minute. Completed my second transaction. I continued to wait for my order. The girl making the espresso drinks seemed to push them out quicker than the pour overs, which was fine at first until I noticed me and the gentleman that order an iced tea before me had still not received our beverages until the cashier’s friends who order after my second transaction received their orders before us. I asked the staff about my order and helped the gentleman also check on his iced tea. The girl working the espresso machine decided to be rude and let us know the orders are being made. While there was only one pour over station, and can understand if it may get backed up, I also noticed the girl making them chatting with someone right behind the counter and further delaying the efficiency.
In summary, inattentive/rude staff, not efficient, but decent coffee. Don’t expect too much when it’s run by unprofessional young adults.

The cappuccino is ?! Their teapot sets are very reasonably priced. Take a look at mine.?
Kid-friendliness: There's a pretty cool ? relaxed vibe at Germack. All are welcome. It's peaceful and quiet, yet very interesting.

My friends and I stopped in for a quick coffee and baked good before setting off for the day. The coffee was brewed fresh and the shopping fun began in the store picking up a few Michigan goods and smoked salts. This coffee shop has a little bit of everything from the beans to spices. Stop by and enjoy the smells!

I come here to buy all my spices. They are so much better than what you get in the grocery stores! The staff was extremely helpful with any questions I had. Always a wonderful experience and you need to stop by here when you are at Eastern Market!

Found a bag of their coffee at Art of the Table in Grand Rapids. Best coffee I’ve ever had.
Germack used to make really good coffee. I come here a lot on Saturdays when I’m at Eastern Market. The service and atmosphere are still good, but the quality of the coffee went down significantly in the last several years. They used to make a consistently delicious, velvety cappuccinos. Now, it just tasted kind of sour. Something changed. Still, a great spot for coffee making tools, condiments, and other things.
