I saw Good Cakes and Bakes on Fox 2 this morning and decided to try their cakes. I got the 7 Up pound cake, sweet potato pound cake, a slice of yellow cake with chocolate frosting and a cinnamon roll. Both pound cakes were EXTREMELY dry. The yellow cake was a bit moist. The cinnamon roll went to another house. I let a friend try it and she threw it away. We were very disappointed.

Quality baked goods for sure, but I had 2 terrible customer service experiences that I never publicly complained about until now! If you challenge April on her customer service, her response is arrogant. I hope she embraces critiques from customers with grace and even charm instead.
Edit: I have to walk past here daily now taking my son to school and because of this experience I never go in. For record, the cake was never sent (nor did I get a an email reply/phone call) and while that was a generous gesture, had the initial issue with the slice that was missing from my very first order been handled with grace I would have been customer.

You guys have some of the nicest people working at good cakes! All the cakes are delicious, the caramel cake is jaw dropping!! if you’re in the neighborhood, you should stop Good Cakes, you won’t be disappointed.

Good Cakes and Bakes is located on Livernois Avenue aka "The Avenue of Fashion" and everything else in between. The service is always excellent here and they have plenty of selections to satisfy everyone's sweet tooth. I always get their Peach cobbler filled cookies. No description needed...just go grab a few for yourself. You don't have to share with anybody else if you don't want to. I didn't...they're that good. Also, check on top of the counter for a carton of a half dozen assorted day-old cupcakes on sale for just 6 bucks. Despite them being advertised as "day-old", they still tasted really fresh.

I got my gender reveal cake from there and it was more than amazing with a surprise in the middle. And the service was very good. They were about to accommodate pick up time when they were closed. The cake was also very delicious. I will definitely be getting cake from there again
