Top tier baking and service. You can tell they use fresh ingredients and bake with love. First time here, I tried a cupcake and sweet potato pie, it was not too sweet just perfect. I will be back to try the pot pie and the soup.
Cute spot. Yummy banana pudding. Chef kiss delicious. $8.00 a little expensive but it’s a nice size. Besides the flimsy looking pink shirt corner guys trying to charge $5 for parking, Requesting payment via Venmo or cashapp. Appears a bit questionable. Further, I don’t believe I saw other close lots asking for money. Which can be a little deterrent from patronizing. Especially when street parking is free, I’d still recommend and would return.

You can’t even support local black owned companies because they do what they want! How the hell your sign says you’re open and yet it’s locked and closed ?

I tried to give this bakery a chance... I'm black and it's black owned, so I want to support black businesses, but this is just such a sad... attempt at black business. Let me go and describe everything.
The food provided is pretty bland and subpar. No creativity or originality included, even the peach cobbler cookie that my friend was obsessed with was found to be made at a bakery in New Orleans that, to his assertion, has been doing it longer and better. My friends and I once did a blind taste test of the bakeries in the area, and these cookies were...not the highest on the list.
the atmosphere- a reinterpretation of a girlboss' dream... a dream that is not (the owner) April Anderson's but something she has adopted. I don't get any sense of the branding or the idea behind it. The pink is a cute color, but the way it's designed is a bit much. The gift store she has takes up so much space, and they're all products I have seen created many times over, products people never really buy. (I asked one of the cashiers, a sweet boy, and he said no one really buys it.) It would make sense to utilize the space for more customers, but the focus is on turning a profit. Again, no originality.
The service is good...unless dealing with the owner of the store, who is usually there. When she's not directing the cashiers on every little thing to do, yelling at them for not paying attention or calling them stupid or threatening to kill them for using company products, she's usually quiet and in her element cooking or doing work at her table. But it would make sense why she would have to micromanage them, as there always seems to be a rotating door of employees. And you know what they say- if the staff is inconsistent, so might be the management.
all in all, a very sad foray

Ive been to good cakes before and they were pretty good. But today I went for a dozen (mixed) cupcakes and a caramel sliced cake. The services was good, but the price to seemed slightly higher form last time I visited. But the quality this time. was a little disappointing the cupcakes. Were a little dried out and didn't seemed a like the cupcakes weren't fully filled cups. I mean it was a little disappointing after spending $67 on
some cupcakes.

Caramel cake was extremely dry. It was like pound cake. Not flavorful at all! The funfetti cake was average. The cinnamon roll was good but not as good as Cinnabon. The lemon sugar cookie was good but I could have went without it.

Nice bakery, frosting isn't homemade but it's fine. The banana pudding has an... Interesting flavor. The cupcakes are your standard cupcakes.
The strongest dish they have are the cinnamon rolls, peach cobbler cookies and carrot cake.
They could stand to add one to two more dishes, make a stronger wifi, and add events and they would be a wag stronger space.
The biggest no is that owner... My God is there something wrong with her. But to own a business, in this day and age, a lot has to be going on in your head.

This was my very first visit to Good Cakes and Bakes, and it won’t be my last. I tried the Chocolate with Dark Chocolate Frosting Cupcake and a Chocolate Chip Cookie. Both were delicious and pleasantly not too sweet, which I really appreciated.
Customer service was excellent. I was greeted right away as soon as I walked in, which made the experience feel warm and welcoming.
If I find myself craving something sweet again, I’ll definitely be back!

Because Michelle and April are two of my favorite people and one of my favorite couples, I’ll admit I’m a bit biased BUT that bias is quickly supported by their current ratings, their products and their loyal long-term customer base. While they’re known for their deserts, I STRONGLY suggest you try their breakfast pastries, specifically the spinach quiche!
I don’t think it’s on their website but it’s worth noting that they can also create cupcakes with personalized logos and names.
Their customer service is top-tier and if their products are good enough for Jay-Z and Beyoncé and Oprah, I think it’s safe to say that you will be pleased with their products.

Giving y'all the praise and honor for not putting icing on jiffy mix cakes and passing them off as real baked goods.✊🏿
Delicious and will definitely be back! ❤️🔥

Ooh, my 😍 bakery. I had several standard cookies like oatmeal, chocolate chip, etc. They are big and chunky and tastes good: not overly relying on sugar. They have a gf brownie that's excellent along with a regular brownie. They have seasonal specials. There's a downtown location as well next to the Fox. Parking is a bit tricky here so I park closeby or go early. There are a few tables inside and outside. Service is friendly and helpful.

We're always looking for good, affordable vegan options. We purchased a vegan peach cobbler cinnamon roll, vegan carrot cake, vegan day-old cupcakes and a regular cinnamon roll. Everything was so moist and delicious and the portions were generous. The 2 young ladies were friendly and knowledgeable. A wonderful experience. We'll for sure be back, but maybe good it's not closer to where we live : ).
