Everything about our experience was amazing. From the host, to the server Mack to the expo who delivered our food to the table. The food was amazing- I ordered the catfish and grits ?. The managers were amazing. We went upstairs to the cigar lounge area, Juan and Lisa were amazing. Monique the manager was kind. Just everything about our experience was OUTSTANDING. We came in on a Sunday afternoon, although it was busy, we still received top notch service like we were the only ones in the establishment.

Good times is stealing. They fall back on their systems to ring you up double for certain drinks. They only put .5 of an ounce in the mix drinks, however if you substitute a liquor they system charge you for a 2oz pour rather than the same .5 that you really requested. Example a drink with Don Julio Anejo reposado is $15. However if you ask for a drink with Don Julio Reposado instead of Blanco they charge you for a 2oz pour rather than the same .5 pour that was in the initial drink. I call it system stealing. Blaming how you were taught to ring it up in the system rather than actually making the same size pour. Creative thievery. You can’t fool intelligent consumers. You can fool ignorant people. Not intelligent folk. I’ve been a long term supporter. That ends today.

I have been here about 4x and everytime the service is amazing ! I’m well taken care of and the drinks & food are a GREAT ! The staff is very upbeat and engaging with each other , they walk around dancing and singing enjoying what they do and that means something, to know that the staff enjoys where they work ! That’s so rare these days especially in the food industry! They make sure I really do have a GOOD TIME ! (Pun intended) I’m being checked on by multiple staff members who are eager to tend to my needs (whatever they may be ) I enjoy supporting black owned businesses! Worst customer service I've ever received in my life. I went there last Saturday for a birthday gathering. On their menu they have Lamb bites, which I was really excited to try. Turns out it's not real Lamb. They looked like a sausage cut up and grilled but tasted like meatballs. I call my waiter over and say to him "these are not Lamb bites, they taste like meatballs". His response was "I told them ppl would say that. I'll go grab a manager for you". One manager comes over and ask if there was a complaint with the food. I told him that I didn't like the Lamb bites, they taste like meatballs. He asked if he could get me something else. I requested steak bites in place of the Lamb. He says "ok, I can get those for you but I'm still going to have to charge you half for these since you started eating them". I can't make this up lol. So I ask "why would you offer me something else if I still have to pay for those even though I'm not happy with them". He goes to grab another manager. The lady comes over, with attitude, and ask "is there an issue?" I told her that I didn't like to Lamb bites because they taste like meatballs. Me: "I was expecting Lamb bites, which I assumed would be similar to steak bites". She said "well they are meatballs, your waiter should've explained that to you". Me: "No your menu should've explained that to me. However, I'm not satisfied. Are you able to remove it from my bill or get me the steak bites that the first manager offered?" She says "I can take these from your table but we're still going to charge you half for these because you already ate some". Me: But I don't feel that I should have to pay for something that was falsely advertised and I don't like". Her: "well were going to charge you half them". Me: "well I'm not paying for them". I never raised my voice, cursed, or gave her any attitude in return. She walks away. The waiter comes back with my bill and the bites are removed. I figured our negotiation went well! So I ask can I now placed my order for steak bites. The waiter tells me that he had been ordered not to serve me anymore! But why, I didn't do anything wrong. She was upset because I didn't like the food? I was floored. I'm not expecting to be compensated for my experience but they do need to learn proper customer service. I'm an amazing customer when I patronize an establishment and they ruined a customer.

I recently had an incredible dining experience at "Good Times on the Avenue." Chef Charles worked his magic, and my creole grits with fried catfish were nothing short of extraordinary—velvety, smooth, and seasoned to perfection. Deontae, our server, was knowledgeable, funny, and attentive to every detail. The prickly pear margarita crafted by the bartender was exceptional. Don't overlook this gem of a restaurant; I'm already looking forward to my next visit! 10/10! My new spot!
