Shannon recommended the Cajun fish tacos and she was NOT wrong. Holy. They were so good. All the bartenders were good to talk to and the food was tasty. I'd add photos but I left nothing on my plate.

I appreciate the Detroit DTW airport for its numerous restaurants and places to sit and have a bite to eat . Especially since most airports around the world have poor food options and are always overpriced.
During a recent stop in DTW I decided to get some early dinner at Gordon Biersch. They are located at the far end of the terminal A headed towards gate A70.
Upon arrival there was no wait and hostess invited me to sit at an open high top . It was not very busy but service was a bit slow . But as I was not a big rush that was not a problem . My waitress was kind and apologetic for the delay and offered a free refill drink option for my ice tea which was nice .
Menu is straightforward with emphasis on handhelds sandwiches and a fair amount of salads options. I chose their Cali grilled chicken sandwich with avocado and a side of the “famous” garlic fries . Chicken sandwich was well prepared and grilled and was not heavy which I appreciated. Fries are okay not too garlicky but nothing I would personally call legendary.
Atmosphere is okay as it is within a terminal gate environment with a bar in the middle so it does tend to get loud , at least when I was there .
I would stop by again when layover in Detroit . Food was good .
