Absolutely phenomenal. Irene was a great server. Any review that says this place sucks is absolutely wrong. They are lying. Don’t believe them.

Valentine’s night was super busy, but our reservation had us seated in minutes.
The server was amazing and added to the quality of our experience.
The food was quality, but had lost temperature by the time it reached the table.
Carrot cake was amazing and the Americana coffee made it a perfect finish. We had a great night.
One side note, the tip is automatically added to the bill as a service charge. If you forget, as I did, you will dramatically overpay. Still a great night.

Came here while on a staycation we got the walleye which was a little dry and fries which were amazing. Pasta was decet sauce a little to thin for the type of noodle. Our server, Nubia was so charming and her eyes are beautiful. Apple pie could have taken much less time if the pastry wasn't being burnt.

Dined at Hamiltons over the weekend, overall it was a 2/5 experience.
The atmosphere was great and service was good. The meal.. disappointing.
We tried the calamari which was fried soooo hard I doubt it was fresh, the texture was rubbery and the sharp chipotle sauce didn’t help. The short rib pasta was definitely lacking on the protein quantity but other than that it was an oily overcooked mess. Lastly, $9 for a 4 piece loaf of bread is wild.
Those are pretty simple dishes that just weren’t *good*.
Of course we didn’t complain or send anything back although many items were lacking, and we were charged an auto gratuity of 22%.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ – Dinner Hit, Breakfast Miss 🍷🍳

Had dinner at Hamilton’s Restaurant and honestly, it started off on the right foot. The server was friendly, super chatty, and the vibe was warm and relaxed. I only had a couple of appetizers and some wine, but everything was pleasant—no complaints there. A nice evening overall. 🍷

However… breakfast the next morning was a totally different story. We were staying at the hotel, so figured we’d pop in again. Big mistake. The place was clearly short-staffed, and it showed. Long wait just to be seated, and once we finally were, our server was nowhere near as friendly or attentive. The food took forever, came out lukewarm and unimpressive, and no one even checked on us to see if we needed anything or how the food was.

So yeah, the dinner was good, but breakfast was chaos. Overall, 3 stars feels fair. It might just depend on when you go and who’s working, but I personally wouldn’t rush back for round two. That’s your call. Good luck out there.

Every visit to Detroit reminds me how many gems the city has and Hamilton’s is one of them. Housed in the historic Carhartt building I opted for the chef’s tasting menu and was blown away by each dish. Inspirations from Nobu and Carbone added delightful surprises and every course impressed this seasoned diner. One of the best dining experiences I’ve had.

This was a disappointing first experience overall.

It started with the valet. I’m not entirely sure if the hotel valet is officially affiliated with the restaurant, but given that it’s all in the same building, I’m assuming they are. I waited about 25 minutes while they were clearly busy. When the valet finally came over to my car, he told me they had reached capacity. The frustrating part is that he had been talking to the car in front of me for over 10 minutes—he could have easily waved us off, yelled that valet was full, or put up a sign. Instead, he ignored the situation and walked away, which set a poor tone from the start.

As for the restaurant itself, the food was okay but nothing memorable.
• The calamari was extremely crispy—more like eating crunchy chips than calamari.
• The salad was decent, but using kale really requires a creamier dressing; it felt under-dressed.
• The fries were fine, nothing special.
• The pasta dish had a sour taste that didn’t seem intentional.

The most disappointing part was the ribeye steak. I fully understand that ribeye has a good amount of fat, but this steak was absolutely not worth $90. It was shockingly small—maybe two bites at best—and for a place that isn’t even a steakhouse, the price is unjustifiable.

To make things worse, as we were leaving the restaurant—since they were already closed—we passed by the bar area to exit and the bartender loudly said, “Sorry gentlemen, the bar is closed.” It was obvious we were coming from the dining area and simply trying to leave, not ordering drinks.

Overall, the staff felt uncoordinated and the experience lacked polish. Between the valet issue, overpriced food, and awkward service moments, this was a very poor first impression.
