It was a nice quiet Friday evening. If I lived nearby it may have become my regular spot just because of how quiet it is but the service was slow and lacking. One of the sushi rolls had an ingredient I requested without, disappointing but fine tolerable. The shrimp on the sushi boat was amazing. There are no instructions or direction so unless you’re a regular this next bit may help you not fumble like I did.Reservations are probably not necessary. Walk around front to Woodward and just go grab a seat. They’ll come around with water soon enough.Parking: Parking lot for the Plaza behind Woodward

Some of the best sushi you’ll have in Detroit! Exquisitely authentic, thank you to the Sushi Chef for his craft and service. We will be back specifically for the sushi!

Google says Hammer & Nail is open at the time of writing this (1/5/24 at 7 pm). But in fact, the doors are locked, and no one is inside. Hours have been weird for a while now :(

Great locating, unreliable hours, often closed or rented. We'd walked in one night from a neighborhood party and had a great experience, but after more than 5 attempts to stop in randomly were thwarted by locked doors or buy outs, we stopped trying.

The atmosphere is great and the sushi is phenomenal. I enjoy the nigiri the best. Ched really uses great ingredients. The drinks are great as well.

Fun little spot that is right on Woodward. Sushi is a welcome addition. Love the asparagus truffle roll. Fish could be a little better quality. Chef was very attentive and easy to work with. Cocktails are good but service is sporadic and not organized. Atmosphere is cute as a button.

Here with friends, we've been wanting to try this place for a while. Very nice decor with a large bar and huge windows. The bartenders are super helpful and attentive, happy to review the drink menu and find something for your tastes. Tried a variety of cocktails and happy with all. Would definitely return.

Came here in a whim. Cute little bar with sushi good options. Drinks are very strong, but good. Definitely a place for those who likes a strong drink. Parking is a little hard, so come early.

Cool space near many entertainment venues. Stopped in after Michael Ho comedy at Majestic theater with friends for a beverage. Sushi menu looks interesting. Will come back to check it out. In between Qline stops if you decide to walk.

Very low key yet open setting, great place for meeting friends for a casual conversation or before a night out. The bartender, Kassidy, made a few recommendations like the roma roll and the old fashioned. Both were absolutely delicious. Ill be back again

My new go to for drinks. Excellent atmosphere

I visited over the summer for per-dinner cocktails. In a DFP article promoting the bar opening, it boasted a mid-century 'Mad Men' style vibe. The only things in the bar that fit the bill were the bar top lamps, and the liquor display behind the bar. The staff was dressed unprofessionally (eg sloppy t-shirt, messy hair...?). I was surprised to see a picture of someone appropriately dressed in a crisp, white shirt and black bowtie in the DFP article. The bar offered a unique--albeit small--cocktail menu. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy my drink because it was far too smoky to note any of the other flavors. I wish they would've had a larger selection of cocktails to choose from. My boyfriend and I were the only two sitting in the bar during our visit. Our bartender was polite, though she kept disappearing to sit at a table outside with her friends or coworkers, so it was difficult to have questions answered. We were waiting a while for someone to return so we could get our bill--had no interest in ordering a second drink. If you are planning to check this bar out, I would highly recommend going later in the evening. It felt too open and bright, as the surrounding walls are all glass. I likely won't return here. Sounds like others had a more pleasant experience than we had.
