I ordered one hawilo sandwich. The sandwich only had two skewers of kafta which is outrageous. Was very dry & overpriced. If you go a street down they literally sell a skewer of Kafta for $2.50.

Note that this restaurant is under new management Shawarma Taj and has a new menu, though it may still be using the old Hawilo Grill Google account possibly because of their good reputation.
During my visit, the food was okay, and they initially messed up our order. They offered to replace the incorrect item but I suggested keeping the wrong item to avoid food waste and asked for a bill adjustment, they simply agreed without further comment.
The service didn't feel particularly welcoming, possibly due to a language barrier. Despite this, I'm leaving a four-star review based on the principles of kindness and compassion.
The service could definitely be more attentive and customer-focused.

NO LONGER HAWILO GRILL. New place is taj shawarma and no where near as good as the old hawilo. Here is my review for the new place.
Probably the worst service I’ve ever received from a restaurant. I don’t ever write bad reviews so this should mean something. The server took all of our orders but didn’t write anything down. We were a table of 5 and he went back to his machine and inputted everything by memory. They brought two shawarmas that were both wrong. Then they brought another wrong order. Then they give our order to another table. They proceeded to take the plate of food from the other table and give it back to us. Who does that? What if they touched that food or started eating from it. I ordered a ribeye shawarma and the meat was fully grey in the inside. At the end they still completely forgot one shawarma after 20 mins of waiting. After we finished eating I went to the owner and complained about the service we received. He apologized for the confusion but argued that the ribeye was cooked to medium well. He wouldn’t apologize for the server messing up orders because he didn’t write down our orders. Overall very bad experience, owner wouldn’t take any accountability and just shrugged me off when I say I wasn’t happy with the service. Food was mediocre at best. Miss the old hawilo grill. Wouldn’t recommend this place.
