We had dinner before a show. Jennifer was excellent and timed our meal perfectly. She had great wine suggestions and took care of our party's food restrictions. She's excellent at her job. Thank you.

This place is good to bring someone who is visiting Detroit/Michigan because you can’t beat the view that Highland offers.
As for the food: Everything tasted more on the saltier end and even the sauces didn’t seem to complement the dishes. Out of all the dishes, my favorites were the raw oysters, the side broccoli, and the bread rolls. Def tasted better than all the courses. :/

Went out for a Valentine’s Day dinner and it did not disappoint. Our serve Virginia was fantastic and guided us through the menu. I highly recommend you request her when eating here. The other wait staff were very helpful in between courses and made us feel welcome. The view was fantastic and the food did not disappoint. I highly recommend this place and will be visiting again.

Overpriced and small portions. The food was okay at best I think the only memorable thing was the view.

Went here a Birthday date! Overall 10/10 experience. The location and view from above is totally worth it. The server was excellent and explained to us the meal experience in detail. They have halal options and clearly stated how they could prepare food keeping our restrictions in mind, which was lovely.

We celebrated our 11-year wedding anniversary at Highlands Detroit, and the experience was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we arrived, everything felt special—beautiful views, incredible food, and an atmosphere that made our night feel truly memorable.
Our server, Troy, was absolutely outstanding. Attentive without being intrusive, warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind—he went above and beyond to make our celebration feel personal and unforgettable. The service paired perfectly with the exceptional quality of the food and the overall elegance of the restaurant.
Highlands made our anniversary one we’ll always remember. We can’t wait to return, and we hope Troy is our server again. Highly recommend for any special occasion—or honestly, any night you want to feel spoiled.

Great place and service. Views are incredible. We did make the mistake of assuming the west side of the tower was casual tables for having cocktails and ordering sharable food like the east side appears to be. It is instead a fix 3 course menu only, at the moment at least. Good dinner though and reasonably priced for a place like this. I expect to pay a little more for the view. If I did it again, I would have just stayed at the bar or found a table for us by the window in the bar area

Surprised by so many unenthused reviews. The views are spectacular, the service was impeccable (if a bit overattentive -- I am totally okay with multiple staff checking in on me much less often), and the food was amazing. Yes, likely somewhat overpriced for a 3-course meal but each meal was just perfect, and we also got complimentary champagne and icecream to celebrate our anniversary. My husband said that he had the best-prepared steak of his life. It's the whole experience. I pay attention to the little things as well, such as their choice of serving plates, cutlery, fresh instead of plastic flowers, the quality of fresh bread they serve. The staff were warm and kind, and even the kitchen manager came to introduce himself and congratulate us. It's all those touches that will make me go back to this restaurant sooner than to any of the many overpriced Ann Arbor restaurants with mediocre food and service.
