Service was good, waiters/waitresses were super friendly. Food was okay, fries were barely warm. Took forever for someone to take our order, took forever for our food, and took forever to get the bill. The place was soooo loud. They had trivia going on and they were still playing the music super loud.

I just had the absolute worst experience with this location. We ordered take-out, when we went to pick it up the staff informed us they didn’t get our order. I had the confirmation email, we were at the correct location, and arrived at the supplied pick up time. Once we were informed they don’t have our order, I called, was transferred between three different people. I was on the phone for 15 minutes only to wait another hour and a half for our food even though the said it was top priority. When we got our order, it was missing items and not made as ordered. I had already waited over two hours at that point. This has been so disappointing. The staff were incredibly stressed and unfriendly. The most help we got was from the bus boy.

HopCat is fantastic! Food was amazing. Especially the steak and fries. Staff were super friendly. This was our last night is the USA before heading home to Australia and it was a great meal to end a great trip!

I came here for my birthday last Friday with a group of friends. We had all just arrived in town and wanted to feast and celebrate before kicking off our Movement weekend. Our reservation was originally for 10 people but we ended up having a few more guests. It was crowded and busy due to a Tigers game. But the staff was very accommodating. As soon as some tables cleared they were able to connect more for our group. Despite how busy it was everyone had a good time. The food was excellent and the staff was amazing. It was a little chaotic in the beginning but everything ended up working out, and we couldn't have been happier. And the professionalism and hospitality we saw from the staff was top notch. Thank you Hopcat for hosting a memorable birthday party. We really appreciated your service. We will be back again!

Beer bar with a better-than-expected menu. Crowded at brunch time, but not too noisy and we were seated immediately. Server accommodated our request for quick service and to-go boxes as we were pressed for time. Definitely want to go back and sample the extensive beer menu.
Horrible service. Horrible staff, racist manager with a horrible negative attitude. Negligent waiter, discrminatory racist atmosphere and this place needs to be removed and the entire staff needs to be fired. They acted like they never received my reservation and were difficult about seating the party I was with. This had happened on multiple occasions. I've never seen it experienced anything like this from any establishment. The racism is completely obvious and I've got BAD news for the owners of hopcat detroit, you've picked the wrong place for your business if you're going to have the audacity to do it up with racist workers. This is not going to turn out in your favor! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME WITH THIS PLACE!

I heard someone raving about the ‘Cosmik Fries' so we decided to try HopCat. I did my research and saw that it's best to make reservations beforehand. We made a 4 o'clock reservation, arrived at 3:50 and weren't sat until 4:20 when I asked why 3 parties who arrived after us were sat before us. Our server came over and made zero eye contact & although she did nothing wrong she wasn't exceptionally friendly or what I would expect a server to be from the upbeat atmosphere. The food was alright, lukewarm but tasted fine & the cosmik fries were nothing to brag about or even want again. The bill was a comfortable price, what I would expect to pay for dinner. The server brought us $1 less than what our change should have been, which I assumed an honest mistake so I didn't mention it & still left an 18% tip. All in all, it wasn't so bad we regret it or want a refund but bad enough we won't ever go back. Large parties and people who are drinking are prioritized over smaller families having casual dinner. The host and servers seemed overwhelmed and pulled in multiple directions, I'm an understanding person & I don't believe we were intentionally forgotten or mistreated but every customers experience counts in hospitality and this is my honest review and experience at this restaurant.
