We were looking for breakfast near the hotel while visiting for the Tigers' opening day weekend. Our server was friendly and efficient. We ordered the Cinnamon Roll Flapjacks and the Early Bird Skillet. Both were delicious. Highly recommend.

Host yelled at me when I said my friend was parking the car. She told me it had been 7 mins and we should have known its a parking lot in the back. It’s my first time here sorry did not google parking Ms. Rudeness. But you see I’m here. Talking to me like I’m ignorant. I didn’t appreciate it. I hold 3 college degrees but, anyways no menu was given or insight on how to access menu. Like they want you to come in knowing everything I guess. Didn’t like my seating in the door. Food was good but will not return service was lacking and people rude. I work as a NP in the area hate I won’t be able to support this place.

"The Champ" chicken sandwich was good, not a fan of the overcooked shoestring fries though. Strange that a restaurant specializing in southern cuisine doesn't offer sweet tea.Visited on a Saturday between 2 and 3pm. Restaurant was packed and there was a bit of a wait (and I was a party of one). The hostess mentioned a waiter had left for the day, which contributed to the wait time. The next time i'm in town i'll try other restaurants before returning here.

Very good food, great atmosphere. Friendly service but under staffed which makes the food take longer to be servedParking: Parking free across the street from the restaurant but very few spots. Paid meter parking on the same side of the street

I had the opportunity to visit Joe Louis southern Kitchen again. We didn’t make reservations and we only had to wait about 7 minutes to be seated when our entire party was present. Anthony was our waiter, he was pretty fast and accurate. I had the Golden Gloves with added cream cheese filling. It was delicious! I love that they have turkey sausage And it’s yummy! We also ordered the Brown Bomber, sausage and gravy with nice biscuits. Again they use turkey sausage for the gravy!! The JLSK Creole shrimp and grits earned high ratings as well. I know we’ll be back here again.
