JP Makes and Bakes

I cannot say enough amazing things about JP Makes and Bakes. The pastries are delicious. The ube brownies are amazing. And the staff is always so kind and helpful. If you have not tried Filipino pastries, now is the time to change that.

I absolutely cannot say enough about how incredible the ube cookies are here. Absolutely amazing -- the flavor, texture, moistness. Unbelievable. I want to go back and try everything they make.

Loved the peach cake!!! It was perfect!! The apple donut was also AMAZING (can’t remember the name of that one), it had a filling. My boyfriend loved it.

I’ll take this review down once I see improvement. I want to support the Filipino peeps but I’ve been twice and the customer service is soo bad…it’s like I was a bother the first time…didn’t have a welcome feelin. The second time I was left standing at the counter as workers looked at me like what are you doing there, I understand if you don’t work the counter but a hello or something to say hey we notice you someone will be with you in a moment…the food is good can be great but have to work on things to be crave worthy. If it was spectacular food I’d go regardless of bad service. But I still frequent establishments if the food is okay but they make you feel welcomed!!

We had the biscuits and gravy, along with several bakery goods. Everything was Incredibly good and wasn’t overly sweet. The donuts were some of the best I have ever had! This place is a must visit!

I’ve gone to JP Makes and Bakes about 3 times now, and luckily haven’t waited in line more than 5 minutes, as the staff move quickly.

My primary motivator for making the 20 minute drive here are the ube brownies; however, I like to try another item each time I come.

On this trip, I ordered a drip coffee and a ‘pan de everything’ roll in addition to the ube brownies (mandatory in my book).

I am looking forward to my next visit to JP Makes and Bakes and subsequently stuffing my face with ube brownies as I cruise down Woodward.

This is a cozy Philippines based pastry shop on Woodward! The person who took my order was pleasant and service was swift.

I ordered 3 ube cookies, 3 buko pandan cookies, an ube brownie, a bicho bicho (donut twist), and a Spanish bread (butter, sugar, bread crumb filling).

The cookies and brownie were soft, sweet, with a subtle ube flavor. The bicho bicho is comparable to your standard American sugared donut twist! The Spanish bread was alright. The filling reminded me of the filling of a cinnamon poptart! Tasty!

I will be returning to try other items.
