Kamper's Rooftop Bar

Kamper's Rooftop Bar is one of the coolest places to grab a drink in downtown Detroit. Located on the 14th floor of the historic Book Tower, it offers amazing views of the city skyline, especially around sunset. The atmosphere feels stylish and upscale but still relaxed.

I stopped by for cocktails and really enjoyed the experience. The drinks were well-crafted, and the menu also has Spanish-inspired small plates that are great for sharing. The outdoor seating area is perfect if you want to enjoy the view and the city vibe.

Overall, Kamper's Rooftop Bar is a great spot for a night out, whether you're meeting friends or going on a date. The views, drinks, and atmosphere make it one of the best rooftop bars in Detroit.

Drinks are okay, food is cold, and they never turn their loud music off at night for residents and hotel guests so there is loud bass all night into the morning.

WOW, just wow. The fact that they have a place so incredible like this in the heart of downtown Detroit is so special. It makes you want to live here! The views are beautiful, the cocktails are good and the dimly lit atmosphere at night is absolutely romantic. From the moment you walk into the building you are engulfed with incredible views of a historic building preserved and maintained to show its original excellence. Walk up to the concierge desk where they will tell you to take the elevator up to Kampers and you won't be disappointed. I wish it would have been warmer weather for a romantic rooftop experience- next time! This was all around, my favorite experience in Detroit.

Gus was an amazing valet attendant! From the moment I arrived, he was professional, friendly, and made the entire experience smooth. He greeted me with a great attitude, handled my vehicle and provided quick, efficient service. It’s rare to come across someone who takes so much pride in their work. Gus truly went above and beyond, and I really appreciate his excellent customer service. Highly recommend!

Fantastic Ambience with fantastic drinks!! Dom was incredible knowledgeable about the cocktail list, as well as his own list. Morgan was very attentive and always had a smile, and Zach ran the whole operation as smooth as possible. 11/10

Zach is an amazing bartender and is very knowledgeable about liquor and knew exactly what to make for me! Food is also a plus, but the view from the balcony is amazing! Definitely a perfect summer spot, yet nice and cozy in the winter!

Kamper’s feels like a refined escape right in the heart of Detroit, beautifully set inside the iconic Book Tower. The space has a warm and inviting charm, blending elegance with comfort in a way that instantly puts you at ease. The views from outside are impressive and make the experience feel special, even if you step out briefly just to take it all in. Every dish and drink feels thoughtfully prepared and satisfying. What truly elevates the visit is the attentive and friendly team, whose positive energy makes the entire experience memorable. Definitely a place that leaves a lasting impression and earns a solid five star rating.

Got engaged at Kamper’s on NYE and it was 10/10! The staff worked with me every step of the way to make sure the proposal was perfect and the night ran smoothly. Best views in the city, amazing service, and a memory we’ll cherish forever. Thank you to everyone involved!

Such a vibe! Morgan was delightful, she handled a difficult table across the bar from us with grace and understanding. Tapas were pretty good we had the shrimp dish. Would come again but parking was difficult.
