The coney dogs, with chili con carne and fresh onion, are a treat. The chili dogs are absolutely delicious, not dry or extra spicy, just perfect. The fries are also enjoyed by customers.
The chili cheese fries are a great side dish. Customers can get a Lafayette special, which is a combo coney/loose burger. The dogs are probably comparable to the joint next door, but Lafayette has maintained an ambience that is like a trip back in a time machine. The service is super-fast as well. This is a must-try Detroit-style hot dog place with great service and an old-school style.
