My husband and I had a day night here the other day and everything was perfect! We were celebrating a couple of personal advancements and our server made us feel very special. He was attentive, knowledgeable, kind and gave us the privacy we wanted. The food was great, good meat quality, and the menu was quite creative too. The ambiance is very inviting and intimate. We will be back!

I attended Marrow West Village for a company dinner party and our large party was seated in the basement. I loved the ambiance of the restaurant, and all of our servers were really nice and knowledgeable about the menu! The staff even customized a drink for me which I found nice because I wanted a fruity cocktail. I wish the parking was better but it’s in downtown Detroit so there’s that. Now, onto the food.
If I am being honest, I wasn’t a huge fan of the food. We had a custom menu (pictured below) and my favorite was the Charcuterie plate. The bone marrow was also good until I got to the bottom which I was greeted by with pure slime/gelatin. For my main entree, it was good but the beef was very chewy.
The worst thing which was way too salty was the pasta aka the gruyere and ricotta gnudi. As well as the maitake mushroom dumplings which were really sweet. Overall, I more than likely would be hesitant to come back but I am grateful I got to experience a new restaurant.

My husband and I had a rare night out and selected Marrow for dinner remembering we enjoyed it a few years back.
Our waitress was warm and welcoming, the other staff the same,
and food came out timely. However, the bone marrow, which we had been looking forward to, actually was almost cold in the middle, and seemed a bit oily and I’d wished it was more salty rather than sweet. The popovers it came with weren’t warm and were a bit dry almost like they’d been previously frozen. The mussels toast was tasty and unique. The bone in steak we shared was good but a bit undercooked for a medium preparation. Overall, we had a very nice time but were slightly disappointed with some of the dishes considering how much we spent.

Lovely place! The atmosphere was intimate and cozy, the service was attentive and informative, and the food was phenomenal. We tried the tasting menu, which offered a wide variety of tastes and left us very full. The drinks were delicious as well, I was impressed by the range of NA options. Hopefully next visit I can get some meat to take home on the butcher’s side.

The vibe is festive (we were seated in the “outdoor room) where it was cozy and warm. Margie was our waitstaff and did not disappoint in recommendations for cocktails and dinner. We chose the tasting menu and all had a favorite course. Delicious!

Marrow was the most exquisite restaurant I have ever seen. The atmosphere was full of relaxing and beautiful decor/lighting.Our waitress, Margie, took magnificent care of us! Making sure to accommodate to even the pickiest of taste, (mine), and making sure we had the chef's tasting with details of each ingredient used. Almost even to the government name of each cow, pig, etc that was in our dish. Only the greatest compliments to each chef and every hand that had a play in each plate and bowl brought to us during our Chef's Tasting menu. 100/10 for this restaurant. Each person involved in our dining experience deserves the very best in life for serving such a wonderful evening. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I am not a food critic. But I have the time while flying back home to reflect on dinner last night. The experience was so amazing that I had to leave a glowing review. I seldom take the time to do so.
Marrow is top shelf dining experience. My friends and I went all in with the food paring ($90) and drink paring ($45) options. Pricey but well worth it. 3 small but flavorful starters, a wonderful pear salad, a chorizo and gnocchi dish head of the main event… a 7oz flat iron steak cooked to perfection over a bed of lightly smoked and tender pinto beans finishing with a single scoop of chestnut ice cream. But that was just the food. The drinks were carefully paired with each course. 5 in total. Each one balanced bitterness, sweetness, and acid with each course. My mouth was alive as if it had been raised from the dead. It was so amazing that I forgot to mentally note each drink so I could describe them in the future.
This place is a diamond in the rough. I only wish I had met the chef and the team behind the incredible experience.
I am from Los Angeles and have plenty of great places to dine. My visit to Detroit to watch my friends compete in an indoor track bike race was punctuated be this celebratory dinner.
If you love incredible food with thoughtfully pared drinks, I cannot recommend Marrow enough.

We had a great first experience here! PJ was an amazing server and walked us through the chefs menu. Our pairings were great. Loved the Heritage Pork dish best (though the snacks were really great). All of the staff here were very welcoming and helped make the experience very enjoyable!

Pains me a little to write this review but as someone who's frequented Marrow for years it's been sad to witness its decline. Dishes here have always been a little spotty with some hits and some misses every time I've visited, but two things always kept me returning: Marrow's signature dish (roasted bone marrow) and the consistently friendly service. The last time I visited I was one of the first tables of the day. My waitress handed me the menus, asked if I had been to Marrow before (yes), and left me to peruse the menu. She returned a few minutes later and asked if I'd made up my mind. I recall thinking it was strange she didn't introduce any specials or the tasting menu which I had enjoyed the last time I visited, but gave her my order off the menu anyways thinking perhaps they weren't offering those options that day. It was only later when other tables were seated around me and I watched her animatedly rattle off specials of the day and tasting menu options and make small talk with the guests did I realize with surprise that her attitude was completely different with me-- maybe because I was dining alone? No matter, I shrugged it off as a honest mistake. I was still looking forward to my bone marrow dish. When the dish was brought out, I was once again met with surprise that instead of the usual full bone (two halves), there was only half a bone on the plate. I checked the menu again to make sure there was no mistake-- sure enough, same price as when I visited a few months ago, but the portion size had decreased by half! I understand everything is getting more expensive but a 200% increase in price over the span of a few months feels excessive. The rest of my meal was lackluster-- drink was ok, the rabbit pierogi was a big miss (stringy + over salted). My waitress did stop by to check in once or twice and was extremely expedient in handing me the check (lol) but I think it's fair to say that after this last visit I no longer have a reason to return to Marrow.

One of the highlights of my Detroit trip. Felt incredibly healthy with this steak kimchi salad. We also got a side of fries and I appreciate the pickle spear they added in. Super fresh and flavorful. Wish I could have had some bone marrow as the name implies - would have loved to take advantage of their butcher options.
