We were a large group and they did everything to accommodate us. The drinks were quick and they even helped to try and find ours friend’s phone.

Overly priced, food was terrible, bug was in my son's cup. Was there for an early flight and thought we were gonna have breakfast.

Arrived to Max and Erma's at 10:10a, to their sign wait to be seated. The bar tender and waitress saw us standing there- waited about 5mins to be greeted or acknowledged while the waitress flirted with a man who walked up after us and sat at the bar.

Once inside Max and Erma we were seated at a table, no water or anything. We knew what we wanted prior, when we went to order our waitress informed us, they were only serving breakfast and that's how it is in the entire airport. Walked to Buddy's- they were serving everything. Waitress was rude and will be a reason to never go back to this Max and Ermas

My go-to before Delta Flights when the gate is À1 - A20 at DTW. Service and drinks are always on point

The hostess today 11/29/25 at 3pm was unwelcoming, rude, and dismissive. Very disappointing since I eat here often while traveling. Doesn’t take any effort to be kind.

Just had breakfast and got the western omelette. It came out with only cheap ham squares, no cheese, green peppers or onions. It was just eggs and ham cubes. I pointed it out and the waiter only said “exactly” sarcastically. No toast. Just tater tots for the potatoes.

Also the music was blaring pop music loud - relax Max and Erma’s it’s 7 am.

I only had limited time and was starving so I ate it anyway, $20 for that garbage food. Do not recommend.

Food was absolutely terrible! The burger was so thin and dry zero flavor. Looked like the frys came out of the microwave.. Any other restaurant in the airport but this one.

Employees sat next to me, apparently on ‘break’…loudly discussing their personal life and other nonsense…again, loudly. Very annoying and disrespectful.

We had such a great experience at Max & Erma’s in the Detroit airport thanks to Van. She was so kind, upbeat, and genuinely happy doing her job. You can tell she takes real pride and ownership in running the bar, which made the whole visit enjoyable. Van is definitely an asset to this place. What a great little bar — we’ll absolutely stop by again next time!

First meal after being out of country for one month to Africa. Looking forward to a smash burger and nachos. This was close to our gate and offered what we desired. Food was awful, burger was like a Walmart Pattie not smash, nachos cold, paid $52 and left feeling ill. Very disappointing.
