I visited here over the summer and the New York style pizza was so damn good. I really liked the atmosphere of this and it's unique design. I just read that the owner plans on moving and it's very disappointing to hear. The look of this place is so distinctive and somehow eccentric but still keeping an old style charm. The little supermarket section was so cool. I'm not sure if the ice cream store attached is the same owner or not. So, I will be disappointed not to be able to visit this location, but I do really, really hope this is not the end. I will definitely visit the new location when it's established.

Visited Metropolitan Pizza while out for a walk in West Village and I’m glad I stopped in. They serve slices, which I really appreciate since most places don’t. I tried a square slice with pepperoni and hot honey and it was excellent, just the right balance of sweet and heat, and full of flavor. I also had a round slice with banana peppers and mushrooms, which was tasty but the square definitely stood out as my favorite.

The space itself has indoor seating and a bar, plus an ice cream shop inside (unfortunately it was closed by the time I finished my pizza). The area is beautiful and this place makes for a great neighborhood pit stop if you’re exploring West Village.

There’s that old idea from the wonderful sitcom
Cheers that you want to go to a place where “everybody knows your name.“ Metropolitan is that place! From the moment I walk in, I feel like I’m ready to relax and let the amazing Tyler make his delicious “Paloma“ for me! The last time I went to the market of the Metropolitan, I didn’t realize Tyler was working there as well. When I told him I’d be in the next day for my delicious elixir, little did I know that when I came back the next day he had saved the last of the fresh squeezed juice for my beloved cocktail. Now that is impeccable service! Did I mention the delicious food? I try something new on the menu every time I can, and nothing fails to disappoint! I will be a local for a long time, and thank you for knowing my name. You make me feel like family. Cheers!

The menu has changed over the years, but I am so happy Metropolitan found their footing with focusing on pizza and salads. I’m here weekly for a salad and they rotate their wines. The bartenders are skilled and can make whatever cocktail I can think of. The pizza has become one of my favorites- my unpopular opinion is I do not care for Detroit style pizza, their thin Brooklyn style is a refreshing change. Love that you can order just a slice, and their specialty pies are unique and well balanced. They have a separate wine menu for a special bottle price when ordering a full pie- very very reasonable and a no brainer. Food menu also has smash burgers, fries, and a few other classics. This business is an absolute staple in the neighborhood, and their attached bodega has saved my life more times than I should admit. It is a super solid, consistent spot.

We got a small margherita pizza and it was one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. I was so shocked. We just stumbled in here after walking around in Indian Village and it was recommended by a local. I’m so glad we checked it out! It was shockingly amazing! I want to try more of their toppings and other menu items! Service was really awful (server not polite or friendly) but the food made up for it.

Hands down the best pizza and burgers in town! The atmosphere is always fun and welcoming. Bonus points for the location—after a great meal, I can bribe the kids with ice cream from Sedos next door. Everyone wins! 👏🏼🍕🍔🍦
