The monarch club is the penthouse with great views of the city. There are patios and some igloos in winter weather.The atmosphere is very much a grab a drink after work crowd. There may have even been some people working from the bar, fun and professional.There is a good variety of drink options and some great options for non-alcoholic liquids as well. There are some appetizers to join the table. The truffle fries are good and I really liked the pear and pesto flat bread pizza.

Gregory was our waiter, he was friendly, fun and attentive. We booked a party of 12 for drinks before a dinner reservation somewhere else. It was the perfect meeting spot and really easy to make the reservation. They put us in a private room which was awesome. I was the only one in the group that had been there before and the rest of the group loved the atmosphere. We will definitely be back.

Great setting and great view of Detroit. We managed to get seats at the bar, the host on first floor being very nice and accommodating. Cocktails were great, food was just ok (we ordered the truffle fries -very salty and garlicky- and the fish dip had a funky smell). Service at the bar was not professional, a few barmaids were giggling loudly for almost half an hour in Spanish not caring about interfering with guests privacy around nor about the image of the Monarch.

I was visiting the city with my best friend and her husband and they brought me to the Monarch Club! Beautiful location, yummy drinks and stunning views! We were lucky to have Jenny as our waiter and she was an absolute delight! She was incredibly welcoming and the service was amazing! Would 100% recommend to my fellow Canadians who are in the Windsor area that can pop over quick!

Mike and Jenny were amazing. Mike makes the most amazing side cars and Jenny was an amazing waitress. She was very attentive and super sweet! I would say they were the dynamic duo. I would highly recommend this place and those two as the people who make your night that much better!
Wow! And wow!! What a treasure in downtown Detroit —and only a hop and skip (not even a jump) from the Detroit Opera House! Great for a pre- or post-show treat. Even on its own, it is absolutely worth the trip into the city to visit the Monarch Club for the wonderful views and great ambiance. It was out first time there and we are already plotting our return!!

I brought in a client from out of town last week to scope out Detroit as a prospective location for a team meeting in the near future. Gregory met us as soon as we walked in. He asked if we were new to the Monarch Club and when we told him what we were doing he proceeded to go above and beyond, offering a tour of the facility when we mentioned we were scouting it for an event of 60 people or so. Once we had our drinks he took us on a tour of each of the terraces and gave our client history of Detroit along the way. He was truly amazing and provided excellent service along the way. It wasn’t until the end he mentioned he had only worked there 6 days at that point. He was amazing and should be the example of how service should be presented all the time, every time.

Our waiter was EXTREMELY helpful & kind!! He needs a raise &/or a promotion ?Seriously, it's not lightly that I say that, in today's climate, he was a welcome addition to our experience.

Overall it was very cool place to get a drink before a show. Throw shade if you want but I did bring my kids. Yes yes I know it's a cocktail bar but I wanted to show them a cool experience and it almost wasn't because they almost turned us away at the door. Their policy says no kids before 9p and I more than honored that coming before 5p. It was a little frustrating. Also, it is insanely pretentious to have your place roped off at the entrance. That aside, mostly good things after. The place is super cool. The lookout and views of the city are awesome. Happened to be there at sunset to boot. Drinks were so so. I had a watered down old fashioned. Wife had a French 75 that she says was good. We passed around several of the small plates, best to worst of what we had; Truffle fries 5/5 Sausage pear flat 4/5 Charcuterie 3/5 Sliders 3/5 Meatballs. 2/5 These are my ratings not my kids.
