i phoned mr. b's soul food on schaefer. when i attempted to ask a question a woman repeatedly hung up the phone. this is extremely poor service. i won't spend my hard earned money with this poorly managed establishment. rudess is not exceptable.

First time here, had tasted sides in the past and the greens were delicious! They still were this visit. They really skimped on the corned beef... one slice and the other looked like crumbles, asked for smothered pork chop, they poured gravy (which was a very nice browned gravy) over the fried pork chops (which were seasoned very well) . Unfortunately I didn't pay attention to the time they were to close so a few items weren't available. Portions were decent, a bit pricey compared to others in the area, food is a bit better also. The sweet potatoes, cabbage and greens were delicious! Would definitely return and would highly recommend

I should’ve read the reviews first. But I didn’t…. We traveled from Southwest Michigan to try the Soul Food here!On Sunday it’s cash only! Had to find an ATM to get cash. Went back to order food it was very limited items to pick from. I ordered a Fried Chicken Dinner (Greens & Green Beans and potatoes) and a Baked Chicken Dinner (Greens and Broccoli) and two peach cobblers. It came to $45.58.When they handed us the food we looked in the bag for plastic ware. Asked the cashier she acted like she was looking for some. And said “Oh we must be out of it”. So we drove to a family dollar to get some plastic ware. Only to find out they gave us 2 baked chicken dinners. We were not turning around to have it corrected. At this point it was clear we should’ve just bought KFC. SMH.The Baked Chicken was dry! And the Greens were alright. The broccoli ? has a strange almost musty taste. The Green Beans with Potatoes were alright. The Cold Peach ? Cobbler was actually good.I would honestly only return for Peach Cobbler! Nothing else.

This was my 1st time visiting Mr.B's. the restaurant itself was very clean which I absolutely loved. Standing in the line and ordering felt like I was in the commissary line in a prison , the bars on the windows didn't help with that but I get security. The cashier wasn't as friendly as she could've been and yelling and speaking through the loud microphone was very irrataiting.I tried the fried turkey chops from here before and they were phenomenal. But I decided to order greens, Macoroni and cheese and the grilled turkey chops! The food instantly smelled so good I did not get to take a before picture. My apologies. My 1st bite of that grilled turkey chop was so tender, and flavorful. Whoever cooked that deserves and needs an award as soon as possible. The greens were absolutely amazing. The cornbread muffin was so good I'm mad I didn't order two. Now the one star loss is because of the Mac and cheese. It looked very cheesy and tasted like absolutely nothing. Heartbreaking. Will I return? Absolutely and can't wait. Highly recommended.

Food smelled very good. Taste was not so tasty! Actually smell like rotten chicken and greens tasted in unclean. Food was eaten in car, what I could bare. Gave me bubble guts….. strong identity something was not clean. Lady taken the orders was really nice. However the other two was looking as if they required bathing. Limited parking, door not big enough for and wheel chair and didn’t see any bathrooms.Vegetarian options: Large selection to choose from. Greens, cabbage, rice, beans, potatoes and sweet potatoes, corn, green beans

Today was my first and last time patronizing this place. The food was ok. The macaroni and cheese noodles were extremely mushy. It was also too salty, too much butter, and not enough cheese. Oh and the bottom was burnt (badly burnt and maybe old). Their candied yams and chicken were on point. However, the real deal breaker for me was the older woman's behavior behind the counter. She was rude, nasty, and short with me. She lacked patience, friendliness, and of course customer service skills. I wouldn't return and I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone. I went to the location at 17600 W. Mc. Nichols Rd. Detroit, MI. 48235. For me, customer service is EVERYTHING! I try to support my people, but darn it, it doesn't always work....
My First time going there for dinner with my family and paid $74.00 for my dinners and dam-itt boy they could do a lot better than this the food wasn't cook all the way and i dove to far and paid way to much for this kind of dinners . and i called three time no answer i would like to talk to the Owner about this Damm-itt Boy.

Went 5 times and 3 times they were not frying fish, the phone is off the hook, the big light skin lady with tats is annoying to everyone. I ordered one thing to get a total different item. It’s sad how this place is ran because the food is good when they are not worried about talking, laughing or playing in the back. My husband visited Mr B's soul food and it was soooo delicious Just what I wanted for my Sunday evening meal I added my own cranberry sauce and it was the cherry so to speak on the meal !!! Definitely will visit again
