The dinner was ok. The food is too expensive, in my opinion. The service was great. I do recommend doing the VIP parking.

The sea bass was the best I’ve ever tasted. It was right off the grill and hot and crispy and so so buttery. I would eat this for the rest of my life. It’s that good no lie.Parking: Valet

Pao serves up some seriously delicious dishes, no doubt about it. The decor is nice, but it lacks that inviting feel you'd hope for in a restaurant. And charging a 20% service fee for just two people at a small table? Not cool.In short, if you're all about the food, go for it. But don't expect stellar service or a cozy atmosphere.

Beautiful venue, great location, and amazing food. Only reason I didn't give five stars is it's very expensive for what's provided, gratuity is included (odd for a restaurant at this price point), and our server dropped the ball a couple times.

The ambiance is amazing...dining amongst the remnants of the Michigan Oriental Theatre. Cocktails and mocktails were tasty and the food delicious. Service was excellent. Nice option to valet park too.
Booked the last minute dinner reservation at Pao. Atmosphere and vibe was amazing. After being seated wait time to be greeted by our server was extremely long, so we moved to the bar. Bartender and service was amazing.
Some cracks in the armor here. used to have the most distinctive Ceasers Salad. now with new chef, just like everyone else's. Ran out of Crown Apple and Patron, both of those are featured in distinct drinks on the menu. 20% automatic gratuity added for party of four seems a little presumptuous. hoping they can make it back

The environment was great. The food was not worth the price (not even close). Staff was nice, but still felt inattentive. Sales-oriented environment. Other customers were enjoying and the lighting was nice so that made the atmosphere better but poor food quality and high prices make this place ignorable. You can find excellent food in Detroit, but this is not one of those.Parking: High cost valet. Metered street parking is available but may have to walk around to find a spot.
