I visited PEQUEÑO Cantina for lunch today and had a great experience. Our bartender, James, was wonderful very personable, welcoming, and full of great energy. We were greeted with genuine kindness as soon as we walked in.
The food was amazing. I had the taco entrée with rice and black beans, and the flavors were incredible the seasoning in both the rice and tacos was so good that I didn’t even need any extra sauce, which is rare for me. I also tried the wing appetizer, and they were delicious with a sweet, tangy flavor. For drinks, I ordered the house-made lemonade made from fresh juice, and my partner enjoyed a whiskey.
I love seeing local restaurants thrive, especially Black-owned spots like this one. PEQUEÑO Cantina has been open for about four years now, and I heard there’s a bar-style lounge next door that opens later in the evening I didn’t get to check it out since I came for lunch, but I definitely plan to return.
Overall, great service, great food, and a great atmosphere. I’ll be back!

Wow! What an incredible experience! We came here with our girls to celebrate our friends birthday, and let me just say, we made the best choice in coming. From the moment we walked in, James greeted us with a warm friendly welcome! He made menu and drink suggestions (all were on point) and had us laughing the whole time! Will, the chef who made out of this world food, also came to introduce himself, check how we like the food, and welcomed us back! We will be back Mondays and Wednesdays to see James for sure

I just wanna start off by saying the food was good and the drinks were good but it’s a 97% chance I will not be back. Came in about 445 on a Thursday 0_O…
They did not have a high chair for my daughter so we had to hold her, only one happy hour menu for the entire restaurant to share, food and drinks took too long to come out as there was only one bartender, had to ask for plates, they ran out of patron silver and reposado so they couldn’t do the drink flight. 20% automatic gratuity. Cheese was not melted inside of the burrito and I asked for light ice with my drink… .

Been here twice now and the service is always phenomenal! The food however…. Both times I came the rice was undercooked and hard. The queso was good, the salsa was ok. I think it’s interesting that they put tajin on their chips.
The entrees are decent as well nothing to write home about but I can tell they really try their best.
Going back to the staff and service I have never been disappointed or dissatisfied with anything! The second time coming they stayed past close and never made us feel rushed so kudos to them and I hope they get their flowers in this review.

Terrible service. The server didn’t even give me a water or ask if I wanted one but she remembered to charge me 20% gratuity on a $40 meal for 2 people seating at the bar. The restaurant doesn’t have any included gratuity notice posted anywhere on the menu, website or at the bar. I normally tip so this wouldn’t be a big issue if the service wasn’t terrible. The server had a bad attitude and was very unpleasant. She was the only server and worked the bar as well, so I understand she was over worked. It still sucked that I had to get bad service as a result. This place needs additional help and people with better attitudes.

My lobster tacos were missing the lobster it was a few little bitty pieces inside the shell. For the price it should be bigger pieces of lobster. My rice was crunchy. The service was good though.
