This morning I stopped into the Siren Hotel cafe and had one of the most exquisite experiences I have had in a very long time. The entire space feels like a European parlor tucked inside Detroit, with deep velvet seating, carved mirrors, soft lighting, and the kind of quiet elegance that makes you want to cancel the rest of your day.
But the star was the honey latte with sea salt. Truly the best I have ever had in my life. It tastes like caramel sunshine but somehow lighter and better for you. Perfectly balanced and silky. If you go, i’d obviously recommend it, but they have their own in-house syrups, etc. so it’d be hard to say just get that.
I also grabbed their pain au chocolat which they source from a local bakery, and it was unreal. Flaky, warm, buttery, and somehow both delicate and decadent. Everything else there is house made which you can feel immediately in the quality.
If you are in Detroit, put this place on your list. It is a little oasis where the coffee tastes like a luxury in itself and the atmosphere makes you want to stay a while.

Highly recommend the breakfast wrap and the breakfast egg sandwich! The wrap comes with an incredible homemade salsa. The breakfast sandwich has a crispy English muffin that’s so unique. The staff at the coffee counter were so nice, and chef Emily was very helpful and also makes delicious pumpkin muffins. Will be back soon!!!
Never stay here or book here. I booked one night…. Just one night through my Cap One travel rewards. Then had a death in the family and called to cancel/refund and they wouldn’t. I had my Cap One representative send an email to the hotel manager explaining the situation and they still said no. What kind of nonhuman and unempathetic people run this business??? This is how you treat your potential customers??? I don’t care about the overpriced $220 a night room refund, it’s the principal. It’s the problem with failed businesses, we see each other as $ signs, not people. You have to see people as people. Take care of one another.

We initially stopped in here to get out of the rain, the coffee being a bonus. But we really enjoyed the coffee and old school decor. Made for great vibes. We'd consider staying at that hotel when we come back to Detroit.

The interior decoration is interesting enough to command a visit if you’re in the area. Vintage, decadent seating—including a dramatic day bed, nooks for conversation, and exposed features like marble stairs and tin ceiling tiles. The coffee and lattes were good but expensive- $10 for a latte with lavender and oatmilk. The service is hit or miss. Three workers gave their undivided attention to the customer before us and after the customer left, they were all terribly busy and took our drink order with annoyed haste. Suddenly they had not energy to answer questions about the menu or make recommendations like they had a moment earlier.
