Lunch with Lions fans before walking a couple blocks to the football game. Awesome time. So convenient. Great food and atmosphere!
Fabulous bar tender who was also our server as there were employees that did not come into work. The restaurant is beautiful and the food was delightfully good. They did the best they could on a Game Day very short on staff. It was good enough that we will try it again when we're in Detroit next
Our server was able to give us great food recommendations. We ate a fattoush salad, steak bites, calamari and chicken shish tikka. The lemon oregano sauce was SO GOOD. We were not offered the complimentary pita, which all of the dining tables around us were. We also had to ask for refills (I had one, and the second one was brought to me after we were finished eating for reference). There was a lot going on downtown that night so I understand the service wasn't top notch as it might be on a slower day.
Lions game day. In and out in perfect time. Food was excellent fresh and well prepared! Server was exceptional even though she had a lot of tables. Would definitely return.
Great place, authentic MiddleEastern food. We loved falafel and lamb. Huge plates. Priced reasonably as well.

Friendly and prompt service. Insanely good spiced ice tea was a delightful surprise, but it might not be for everyone so be aware when you order. We had the baba as an app and it was garnished with cubes of beet which was a wonderful twist on the otherwise classic dish. I made my own combo with beef kafta, chicken shish tikka, and beef shawarma, as pictured. and my eldest got the mixed grill and my youngest got Sahara Chicken without mushrooms. All was fantastic and the toum was excellent.

Me and my mom had such a great experience at Sahara Detroit. It’s located in such a perfect place and the food is absolutely amazing. Our server Faris helped us pick the best dishes on the menu and it was such a great experience!
While dining in Sahara restaurant I overheard a female manager tell one of her employees that she could throw on some makeup and you could clearly tell it visibly upset the girl, the employee was very well groomed and looked presentable in my opinion. There’s enough in hatred in the world it’s disheartening to hear women bash other women’s appearance especially coming from a manager.

Just had a horrible experience, gentleman came and gave us water but the two waitresses that sat us with a completely dead restaurant never came back to take our order. The one table was there was complaining about their food that came up was missin their chicken and humus....We left after waiting 10 minutes of now one taking our order

Did a friend's bday there. It was busy weekend in the area so the parking was crap in the entire surrounding neighborhood, but the restaurant was cool. I got the shrimp and rice. It was fire 🔥
The food is delicious. This place is huge & always tend to be empty when I'm downtown. We stopped in after a high school graduation without reservations. They were able to accommodate 13 of us. The service was great, the food and drinks amazing. Highly recommend if downtown Detroit.
