If you are visiting the New Center area of Detroit or are looking for a new local coffee shop, you HAVE to check out Saturn Coffee! I think the best way to describe how great Saturn Coffee is would be to say that I've been there literally EVERY weekend since they opened at the end of August 2025! I usually can't go during the week due to my work schedule, but if I have a weekday off I'm there. Within a few weeks they already knew me by name and knew my go-to order!
Sarah and Chris, the owners, are the sweetest couple! They're very kind, friendly, warm, and funny. Their employees that work with them are all the same way! I've never had any problems with any of the staff, and they always make you feel welcome and at home in the coffee shop.
The interior is cute and quaint, but there is still plenty of seating and table space. It is a chill environment that makes it easy to do some work on the computer (they do have wifi), read, or even work on a crochet project (which I have done). It's even a great space to meet up with a significant other, family, or a friend to just hang out.
Every single drink my husband and I have had there has been amazing! My go-to is a caramel mocha latte with whole milk. During the summer it was iced, but I've recently switched to hot and it's delicious both ways. My husband is more adventurous, so I've had sips of his various drinks and enjoyed them all too! He's tried the hot brewed coffee, cold brew, cherry espresso coca cola, hot cocoa with oat milk, maple sea salt latte with oat milk (seasonal), and their Arnold Palmer.
We've also enjoyed the baked goods they offer. Their in-house biscuit and breakfast sandwiches are a good start to the morning. I don't know where they get the cookies they offer, but the brown butter chocolate chip cookie is delicious! I'm always tempted to get one when they have them available.

The prices are pretty outrageous for an 8oz beverage. I often drink decaf espresso which has a $1 upcharge here and if I wanted a 12oz (standard most other places) flavored latte I would be looking at a $9 latte.
Biscuit sandwiches are pretty good, but again not necessarily worth $10. I have visited 5 times and they have never had anything in their pastry case.
I was excited to have a walkable coffee shop in my neighborhood but this is going to have to be reserved for very rare occasions.

It was my first time trying this place, and I loved it! The space is so cute and cozy, and the aesthetic makes you want to stay a while. The staff were super kind and welcoming, which made a great first impression. Our coffee was delicious, and we’ll definitely be coming back again soon.

Saturn is your new favorite neighborhood coffee shop! It offers a cozy atmosphere whether you’re inside or outside on the patio. There’s plenty of seating and outlets, perfect for working and catching up with your people. The biscuit sandwiches are a MUST try! Perfectly buttery and flakey and the best part is you can build your own. I recommend getting yours with a jammy egg 🤤. The staff are also all so lovely and make the place feel nice and friendly. So excited to keep coming back!
